April 14, 20197 yr Hi, I must be blind, but where do I download the config / setup software for the ET112 energy meter? Victron says its free on the Carlo Gavazzi web site but really I can’t find it. By now I’m not even sure which web site IS the official Carlo Gavazzi site. I want to check my cabling is right and set it up and change its RS485 address so I can put it on the same bus as my Pylon batteries. Thanks!

Not yet, anyhow 😉 I found https://www.gavazzionline.com/CGNA/Brochures/GtBrochure/ucs.zip/ - "Universal Configuration Software" which seems to be the right thing.

April 14, 20197 yr My understanding is that through the software you are able to assign a new address to me meter. Without it only the meter version with the screens can be assigned a non-default address manually. I think this overcomes the Venus issue, so now more than one meter can be on the same 485 bus. Otherwise, only one meter/bus in Venus as all meters start with the same default address and conflict.

Indeed, dbus-cgwacs automatically sets it up if it isn't correctly configured yet. But Elbow doesn't have one of these... 1 hour ago, Elbow said: I must be blind, but where do I download the config / setup software for the ET112 energy meter? Well I successfully connected, then using the app changed the baud rate to 115200 to match my other rs485 devices and now I can’t connect for love nor money... Emailed them for advice.
April 14, 20197 yr And if I may interject here with a question of my own 😉 ET112 to be installed in main db one day - but venus device lives in garage about 15 meter away. What is the best way to connect? I looked at the suggested zigbee devices - but they are *not* cheap... Also - then I'd have to have a power supply close to the db etc.

Rs485 can go a long way. otoh right now it’s not working...

That might well be why it doesn't work at higher speeds... your bus is over-terminated 🙂 It's not that. I checked the resistance across the A/B pins on the adapter with the resistor connected and it was 120 ohms. Maybe the problem is my RS232/485 adapter, or that combined with the USB/serial. My other FTDI based adapter doesn't work - presumably a victim of the FTDI clone chip infowars. So I'm trying to get another. Wish I could find out how to factory-reset the ET112 to get it back to 9600 baud.
