9 hours ago9 hr Hi AllI am looking for some advice - hope someone can assist. I have a 8KW Sunsynk and I am looking to replace my old batteries with a 16Kw single battery. I have 8 solar panels and my max battery discharge on the Sunsynk is set to 100AHave seen the HinaEss PowerGem Max 16kWh and the Knyee KNY-ES-LV-16 16.08 kWh - which one would work better with the Sunsynk and Solar Assistant.ThanksWayne

However, I suspect with your 8 x ?(say 550W) panels, you don't have close to enough PV to recharge a 16kWh battery - depending on your base load/daily load and depth of discharge. Even with sufficient PV, personally, I would not charge above 60A (20A per 5kWh) in any case, to ensure longevity.LFP likes to be cycled, in order for the BMS to trigger a SOC calibration, otherwise you may suffer from "SOC creep". So charging the battery close to 100% is advisable. If ever I need to replace my batteries, I would also considering going your route. Uses much less space, less cabling etc.
3 hours ago3 hr Author Thank you, will probably go with the Kynee - spoke to Steve from Powerforum and he had very positive things to say about it.Surprisingly, the 8 panels charge my 3 Pylontech UP5000's (for sale in the Classified section) perfectly. In winter I cannot put much excess to the geyser, but in summer the batteries are fully charged by 12pm and the excess goes to my geyser.
