@Mstott What is this Logger V2 used for? Trying to understand if I need this for the Victron Multiplus to talk to the Solar MD battery or is it only for additional metrics?

This controls the set points for charge and discharge . And is used for coms between battery and venus . I dont think you can do the installation without it I'm afraid . And it is also used for online interface to the battery for any mo storing you may want to do .

Sounds like it's the intelligent part of the BMS, so to speak.

Hi all, a new client of mine with a nice 2 x 10kVA Quattro plus Kaco grid tie inverter setup asked us to supply and install 6 x 7.4kWh SolarMD batteries to replace his lead bank.  We did this - all good.  Got the batteries to talk to the inverters via the CCGX.  Using ESS assistant.  But now there is fine tuning to be done and I am not the Victron expert yet.  I did confess this before taking the job and agreed with the client we will call in some expert to help with the final setup.

However this proves to be a bit of a challenge (finding the expert!).  Can anyone recommend someone who will come and help us on a consultancy basis?  I am also lining up a few other Victron projects now and need to know that the support is there while I get myself and team certified over time on the products.

Many thanks

I can. Drop me a PM. They can even help remotely.

Get into contact with Andre Durand. He's in charge of training on this side of the country, he can loop you into the next training event. At the moment it is a bit difficult for myself to help out in these cases, cause consulting in my private capacity would be a conflict of interest, and doing so in a professional capacity is in conflict with my job description 🙂 So I've always tried to equip others so I can offload this. Thanks @The Terrible Triplett for jumping in.

Honestly, not to be negative at all, good luck with reaching him. I have tried on numerous occasions with the hope of being included in training sessions. Not even one response from him. Gave him the benefit of the doubt and thought he is just a busy man, but eventually I just gave up.

Thanks @The Terrible Triplett for jumping in.

Am sitting on me hands ... 🙊🙉🙈   🙂

So I spent some time searching around until I found a dealer whom not only imports Victron equipment, they are also authorized to repair the equipment and have been doing that for 20+ years.

So the experience and knowledge is there, they are always willing to help, sometimes just because sometimes for a fee to cover some of their time and effort in sharing their knowledge after solving the problem.
