Can program the inverter directly without GX but i think the battery bms needs to have the GX present to route thru. I use a venus with mine. That also gives you all your monitoring pages to see via Victron VRM so its worth its cost

The software called VictronConnect, is a freed download https://www.victronenergy.com/support-and-downloads/software The MK3 cost ~R1000 You could always borrow one, or ask your supplier to help you.
