So for you to interrogate a trip you'll need to connect via one of the (web) apps.. Any Goodwe users out there who have done this already?? you can use Settings -> Dianose Message in PV master, but the messages are not terribly helpful. The displays in these apps (including the system state) are not real time but are samples taken every X minutes. So the chances of seeing anything helpful immediately after the trip are slight.

With the microwave on, no problem, then the hair dryer got added and the system tripped apparently at "15" something (Watts, I do not know). I do not know if it is the battery or the inverter, but the installer is of the opinion that it could be a problem with the battery. Would it be advisable to add another battery unit? We currently have the single battery on recommendation of the installer. The first couple of days the battery charged to a max. of 88% then it went up to 100% whilst operating on the Backup mode, Wednesday morning (16/12) Today we experienced another trip, but with Escom power it took a while and everything was back up and running. When we had a power failure (Sunday) it was a more complicated reset by the installer, as the battery discharged to minimum without anything drawing current for some unknown reason. The system is now operating on "Backup Mode", battery not discharging and I would like to know how to prevent the system tripping, make use of the battery and save some money in the process. I would like to know if it is the battery or the inverter causing the system to trip. Any advice on how to prevent the system from tripping and how to reset the system when it happens please. As others have mentioned, the starting point would be to have a look at the SEMS data. It'll give you an idea what the total load on the inverter is. There are physical limits to what the inverter can supply and going in blindly, without thorough understanding of your loads, is a recipe for disaster. Without data, it's like looking for a needle in a haystack. Based on some comments above, it seems you only have the inverter tripping when the grid falls away and under load? That does sound like you battery is tripping, not the inverter. Again, as others have mentioned, one US3000 isn't really optimal for the inverter. You are technically limited to 1.7kWh worth of backup capability by the Pylontech battery, which is a 1/3rd of what the inverter is capable of. If your loads never exceed that, then all is good. But based on what you mention above your loads can easily surpass that as 1.7kWh is not a lot for a typical household. The fact that your inverter is now running in Backup mode and not tripping, further confirms that your battery pack is under provisioned for your loads. The first thing to do is to have a look at the daily SEMS data to get an idea what's going on (please confirm that you have access to SEMS?). Once there's a day or two's worth of graphs then we can look at you switching off the grid and seeing what's drawing power. Unfortunately it's a little difficult when we don't know what is wired to the backup side of the inverter. I have a strong feeling in my gut we are going to circle back to insufficient battery peak delivery.
December 29, 20205 yr You could perhaps also generate a graphical report from SEMS from the time you are having issues, suggest start of with a wider date range, I also suspect SEMS is based on a time zone in Asia so you may have to select a time a few hours ahead for a recent event: Make sure to select curve along with max 2 parameters (when generating a curve) You can Zoom in and out of the area of interest using the sliders below: Edited December 29, 20205 yr by WeNotGood typo, add info
