Intriguing that the 41.xx series are continuing, seemingly in parallel with the 91.xx series. My guess is that the 91.xx series is specialised for one of Voltronics' customers (resellers) with slightly different needs.

Edit: in another topic, it was reported that the 90.XX versions are for testing specific problems, and the 45.XX remain the "stable" or "official" versions.

I can say that I successfully flashed this firmware on to my VMIII 24v - and all went well. (flashed via USB)

It did prefer a proper restart as ICC didnt communicate properly with some settings but after the inverter restart, that was fine also.

I was hoping to flash MCU 02.61 also, but seems you must do that via a COM / RS232 interface, so will acquire that and perform the flash at a later stage.

Great, thanks for the feedback! Need to get around to doing mine still... I'm already on MCU 2.61 though. I don't suppose you noticed any changes on 41.17?😅

Nope, not yet. But early days still.

I have the annoying 69 error when my Pylon UP2500 starts to float, and I am still seeing that, but am also looking to give it a day or two to see if there's any difference (and it hopefully goes away). - or maybe that gets fixed under MCU 2.61?

Will report back if/when I notice any changes.

More likely fixed with MCU as I believe (Could be remembering wrong) that updating the MCU is what gave access to the PYL option in earlier inverters. So I would guess that the MCU controls the comms with the battery.

I see @Coulomb uploaded 2.66 MCU firmware - that's the latest I've seen for the MCU and quite an upgrade from the 2.61 we're currently running! Now I have two things to update on my VMiii!

Interesting... where can a person find @Coulomb's upload?

So finally, I managed to get the correct USB to RS232 setup and flash the MCU. I decided to go for version 2.66 uploaded by @Coulomb and this is what I have noticed thus far:

- I dont have the 69 warning for when the pylontech is float charging anymore, which is great.

- A problem I have encountered is that for some reason, I cant manually flip over to battery anymore. It's set to SBU (no power from solar atm), but still it's supplying power from the grid (bypass). If I kill AC power, then it does go to battery just fine, but not when I do the manual switch while AC is supplied.

I'll try a few settings but else I might flash 2.61 tomorrow to see how that behaves.

Decided to charge the pylon from Grid for a while and viola, I am again able to manually switch to Battery! ... Very bizarre. I'll keep an eye for a day or two and see how it behaves.

Hi.

Just a question...

Are the 91.20 and 41.17 firmware updates, and the MCU 02.66  suitable for the axpert vm III 48v and/or 24v  ???

Thanks in advance for the answers!

I can only speak for the 41.17 and mcu 2.66... it didnt state if it was for a 24v or 48v, but i installed it on my 24v vmiii and it was fine. the version i had before was the 41.x range so didnt want to try anything from a different range, like 91.x.

I have downloaded the 41.17 firmware upgrade. Flashed and now it displays ver 20.59... ???? (It looks like the MPP Solar Version. Oops....! :(

Anyone with the same problem. Or where can I find vers 41.14? Have to revert back to the old one...

So far not a problem but time will tell. Have load shedding tonight.

BTW: New WatchPower1.15SP4 upgrade : https://voltaconsolar.com/monitoring-software/

Did you download it from this forum or from the Czech site in the first post of this topic?

I can't explain why it shows that version. It is one of the ones in my collection, so I might have screwed up and uploaded the wrong file, but I've just downloaded it again and checked and it should display 41.17. [ Edit: At least, from software like WatchPower that uses the QVFW command. ]

Are you sure you used the right firmware update file?

I found the correct Version software for 41.17, and it's working 100%. Now it's showing the correct version om my Inverter.

It's so weird. I downloaded your version, and it compares identically with the one I have. I'll put a warning on mine.

@Coulomb Yep, it is weird. But I think it's best we keep the "versions"  separate for future reference and tests.

Just for the sake of it, I reloaded yours, still showing 20.59. Reloaded mine, showing 41.17. 🤨

It might be that the Czech guys uploaded the wrong file of the same date. If one hex edit the firmware file one should not notice the difference. But if you compare the 2 PDF files, under the paths in step 5 to 6 you will notice the one displays this version 20.59 in the path. Which tells me he/they used the wrong file.

So, hope you are ok with it. :)
