October 27, 20169 yr Hey guys, I purchased 4 x 100Ah Lithium batteries about a year ago, and since then I stopped having weekly power cuts. So I purchased them for nothing, as the 4 x 100Ah DC Gel batteries are working just fine. I would end up using the Lithium's at some point ( going off the grid on one phase when electricity prices start getting more steep), so for now I need to know where I can give my batteries a boost charge OR maybe I can just buy one. Can someone please kindly point me in the right direction. TIA !
October 27, 20169 yr Hi CaTcH21 whenever i want to charge batteries i use my Hobby charger, true they will take long to fill up a large Lithium but they can charge pretty much any type of battery I use my hobby charger to do a equilize charge over night on my lead acids every 6 months or so http://hobbymania.co.za/chargers/imax-b6ac-v2-professional-balance-charger-discharger Where did you buy the 100AH lithium cells ?

Purchased for R5.5k each 12v100Ah

December 21, 20169 yr Hello catch21 and other members . I suggest charging the cells individually . Ideally they dont need a full charge i would suggest discharging them then charging them to 50 % or what we term a storage charge . Lifepo4 batteries do get stressed when left fully charged for long periods of time around the 3.5v mark and above . To negate this any batteries shipped from a manufacturer will always be charged around 40 % to 50 % SOC . Thats to prevent stressing the cell structure and chemistry internally. So if you just topping them off no full charge ............. Now again the question of what cells are they ... what chemistry more importantly. Lithium batteries have variations and each a tailor made charge voltage with doos and donts. Please advise so we can provide the best solution.
