Pylontech

Pylontech is a global energy storage company focusing on safe, reliable, and scalable energy storage systems for residential, commercial & industrial, and utility-scale applications.

In South Africa, Pylontech aims to be more than just a battery supplier. We want to be a long-term partner in the local energy ecosystem, supporting not only products, but also system compatibility, installer training, after-sales support, and local service.

Through the Pylontech section on PowerForum, we will continue to share product information, application solutions, installation guidance, local service updates, and practical FAQs to support installers, channel partners, and end users.

As the South African market moves from pure backup demand toward electricity cost optimization, solar self-consumption, and smarter energy management, Pylontech will keep working closely with local partners to provide stable, flexible, and locally relevant energy storage solutions.

  3. Hi everyone. I’m looking for some assistance from anyone experienced with Victron and Pylontech systems, or someone who can recommend a knowledgeable installer/technician. I’m upgrading my battery bank from the Pylontech US3000 series to the newer Pylontech Fidus 16 kWh batteries, running with a Victron Quattro 10 kVA system. I’d particularly like to speak with someone who has experience integrating and commissioning the Pylontech Fidus batteries with Victron. I’m based in Johannesburg, Gauteng. If you have experience with this combination or know someone who does, please comment or reach out to me privately. Thanks in advance.

Good day. I want to slow charge two Pylontech UP5000 batteries to see if I can sort out cell imbalances. Can anyone recommend a make and model of a charger that can be set precisely to 53.2V and limit current to 2A? Or maybe recommend a charger that can do this safely? Thank you.

  5. Started by MorneDJ,

Last year, during my last service, I was told that the one battery (that I used as the master), was not working and that the cells were swollen. Now, I generally operate the batteries to never discharge below 30%, and as far as I know, it only went to less than 20% about 3 times in 5 years. This battery was also less than 2 years old. When Glodina took it to the supplier/distributer, it was reported that they will not honour the battery as the battery showed signs of water damage. How, I do not know, as there is no way that water can get close to the batteries (there are no pipes near that area, no taps, I never put anything on top of the cabinet etc.), but I am not goin…

  8. Hi, A few years since my previous intallation, now have installed 12x Monocrystalline 625w panels feeding Voltronic Axpert MAX II 11 KWh with CPU 1 7508 and CPU 2 3928 tied to Pylontech Pylontech Fidus Plus 16Kwh 51.2v 300Ah After a couple of days the Panels show these numbers on a lightly clouded day: - P1 295v (with 0 A and 15 watts ?) - and P2 291v (with 0,2 A and 71 watts ?) And both move to around 310 on sunny times, however still with near zero A and watts figures. That is the first question, shouldn't the A and watts numbers be quite higher? What could be causing this? Then the inverter is configured as single Phase and I have respected the numbers that choosing…

  10. 1. Topic ObjectiveHelp end users make a safe first judgment when a battery system shows an alarm, cannot start, loses communication with the inverter, or behaves abnormally. The goal is not internal repair. The goal is safe checking, clear documentation, and correct escalation. Key message: check safely, do not open the battery, and contact authorized support when the issue is repeated or unsafe. 2. 30-Second First Check Use this first-check sequence before deciding what to do next: battery power status, LED indicators, inverter alarm, breaker and visible cables, recent events, then decision. 1. Check whether the battery can be turned on. 2. Observe RUN, ALARM and SOC ind…
