Thoughts on this system - gas and pv
I think if i had a spare electric geyser i would do something similar and add an extra panel or two to keep it warm...

Thoughts on this system - gas and pv
Our house doesn't use much elec. At least i think lol We have gas stoves and gas geyset. In summer running two small airbnb units we use about 250-300units a month (believe thats 300kw?). Problem 1: We use quite a bit of gas to hear up our water in the winter when it drops to about 5-8c outside in the mornings. The pipes are exposed outside so water is pretty damn cold. Pipe insulation seems costly at R100 per meter and we would need at least 50m. To help reduce our gas bill was thinking of installation of an ITS FP 2.0m² Vertical Flat Plate Solar Collector or black hdpe piping to preheat the water a bit? For the house we are looking at a 6kw Lux power with a 5kw dyness battery and 6 to 8 panels. We think this might be fine for now. We use fireplaces for heat. In saying this, is there a better cost effective solution besides doing the above mentioned water gas geyser preheater? We dont have an electric geyser anywhere on the property. Any advice be grateful.

Selling 6 x Pylontech US3000C
Be great to get a photo. Could very well ve interested but as a two year old, out of warranty etc R13600 feels high for a second hand battery. Reasonable price be appreciated
-
Selling 6 x Pylontech US3000C
Miscalculated. Thought was R12600 per battery. R13600 per 2yr old battery ..
-
Selling 6 x Pylontech US3000C
Seems brand new ones go for R15600 from the power forum store. Extra R3600 gets you a brand spanking new one with warranty etc.

Thoughts on this 2 in 1 inverter battery
So users say non existent customer service. Looked at their website not even an address or phone number. Comes with a 2 yr warranty but i guess that's impossible since you cant send them anywhere lol. I wouldn't be surprised if they are gone in a few months

Thoughts on this 2 in 1 inverter battery
I came across this unit on Takealot. The price point of R8200 or so for 3kw inverter and battery seems too good to be true yet the reviews seem to be good. I see on the new model it won't handle an temporary loads ovwr 3kw, so maybe this why it that affordable? Be great to hear members thoughts and perhaps better options. https://www.takealot.com/navasolar-trolley-inverter-3kw-24vdc-2560wh-lifepo4-sa-outlets/PLID92940182

@craig777do you perhaps have a link to thread you mentioned above of the guy installed for the Coc?
-
Is this compliant?
Looking for advice from any Electrians out there. Does this setup comply? I have a Electrian who can come and do the Coc but I would like to get it right before he comes out as not to waste his time.

This type of fuse fine for battery?
Thanks. Our average usage is 250 watts with a few hours at around 400-600w. It mainly runs our electronics smart TV and laptops There are the occasional spikes of around 1.8kw for one or two seconds several times a day but that's about it. From a new fridge.

This type of fuse fine for battery?
Did a quick search on chatgpt 4.5 and got this from the interwebs. The MCE 22X58 500V 100kV 100A gG/gL cylindrical fuse is designed for general protection against overloads and short circuits in both AC and DC applications1. This means it can be used with your DC battery system. Oddly enough makro sells them for the Axpert inverter https://www.makro.co.za/electronics-computers/wifi-networking/accessories/accessories/100a-22-x-58mm-fuse-100ka-500v-ac-or-dc---for-use-with-axpert-inverter-batteries/p/5cff5087-4e51-4b32-bd33-5a5d0cbf0c99

Battery fuse melted
Hi quick question. If I have a 12v battery and 1000W, is not a 100amp the right current rating?
