  1. I don't have the 8kw Deye, but do have 2 batteries on my 5kw Deye. Check that the DP switches on both batteries are correctly set for Master and Slave. MdF
  2. Good suggestions. (1) Yes, have always been looking at increasing number of panels for cloudty days etc. Hopefully to be done by year end this year. (2) Hmmm, hadn't thought of upping the amps on cloudy days just as and when need. As this can be done remotely, that makes quite a bit of sense. MdF
  3. Thanks Nexuss, Agree with your comment entirely. On cloudy and rainy days, it would be nice to have the batteries fill up at a slightly quicker rate when grid is needed. Addmittedly however, this requirement was during the bad Stage 6 LS etc when the time between grid availability was short. MdF
  4. Greetings All, Have been using the system in my signature below for two years now and it has been humming along very well. However, I have always had a nagging thought that the system could charge the batteries at a higher rate. Below are the current system settings I have. Any suggestions if this is optimal? Or could I at least push the Grid Charge up to 50A? Thanks MdF
  5. Hi Jean, I believe it does as the code 00 or 01 tells the system what type of lithium battery it is and what protocol should be used. Mine is set to 00. MdF
  6. Why under Battery Setting > Lithium Mode do you have PYLON typed in there? It should be a code like 00 or 01. MdF
  7. Have you tried connecting via bluetooth and restarting the Pi that way? MdF
  8. Have updated to 07-07 last week already. No dashboard freezing issues here. MdF
  9. You should check on the SA website to see if your battery type is supported. If not, then you will only get the basic inverter data on SA. MdF
  10. I would give it some time and see what happens with SA. They are usually pretty good at keeping up with new inverter and battery releases, and if the Deye battery product becomes popular, they may well add functionality for it. MdF

Yes it does, average daily Eskom use in summer amounts to 300w and in winter about 800w. Significantly down from pre-install setup. Essentially we are maximising solar usage during the day and using battery at night. Whatever is the (short) sorthfall from Eskom coes from the grid.
  12. This may well be related to the fact that the Deye batteries are not yet supported by SA and that could be causing the strange data you are seeing? Maybe drop SA an email and ask if and when they will be adding support on their system. I know that my batteries are not supported by SA (and won't be) and so will have to make do with the very basic inverter information SA receives. MdF
  13. Good plan, you won't be sorry 💯
  14. So, last night there was a software update. Whilst the software version field was still not showing, below that the normal text showing that an update was available was showing. I did the download and the system restarted. The bug has been fixed and the software version field is now showing again. MdF
  15. Thanks, have done the email to Pierre and he is good at getting things sorted. Was just interested if others had the same issue or just on my side of things. MdF
  16. Morning All, Did a beta software update of SA on Friday and noticed that now the Software version field on the Configuration is not showing. Anyone else with this issue? Not sure now how the next update would be done as the field does not show anymore? Have done a reboot, shutdown and restart and reported the issue to SA. MdF
  17. If you click on View Site on solarassistant.io from your Configuration page, you can check if you actually are on the Beta programme when you scroll to the bottom and look for Software Release Channel? MdF
  18. Afternoon All, I see that the latest beta release of SA now offers the opportunity to backup your database of data: https://solar-assistant.io/help/historic-data/backup just done the process and it seems to work fine. Nice 🙂 MdF
  19. Fair point, but it is a continuously evolving piece of software that allows you to do quite a bit remotely on your inverter and battery. I have seen quite a few new features added over the past 18 months which has given me more and more control over my entire system. MdF
  20. MdF replied to Cassie's topic in Inverters
I understood the question rather to be that they were looking for an official Deye app much like Sunsynk has an official app for their inverters. MdF

Cassie, No there is not. But. Have a look at Solar Assistant. Works exceptionally well and will do everything you need to remotely control the Deye inverter. https://solar-assistant.io/ MdF
  22. Is your battery listed in the supported batteries in SA when you do the setup? If not, then you will only get the limited data that is read by the inverter. I too am in the same position with the brand of batteries I purchased. One thing I will definitely have a look at in the future when it comes time to replace them, is are they supported by something like SA as the extra data is very usefull especially when it comes to monitoring things like cycles and cell performance. MdF
  23. Morning All, Just a message to site admin to seriously look at putting in better controls to prevent the sign up of spam accounts. See attached from this morning the long list of posts. This happened a week or so back as well. Thanks, MdF
