SunSynk 5KW Inverter settings
My electrician combined the pairs for me - i wasn't sure about this but it seems to work. I've seen other installs where they used a single one and it also worked

SunSynk 5kW inverter - some questions
5500w for the Inverter in total - the Amps were upgraded to 13A not the 11A. Max string input of 500v / mppt I believe it IS possible to overspec and the inverter wont complain as long as you dont exceed the 500V / mppt @Leshen @steve can you confirm?

Solar Panel Layout?
@Speedstercan advise - he had similar challenges and constraints

Geyser During Loadshedding
Im not too clued up on the Aux function - perhaps someone else here can advise If you DO put it on essentials with the CBI astute the inverter will tell you that the grid is lost, either by the frequency or grid voltage dropping. Using this you can then tell the CBI to switch off. It a bit easier if you have something like Home Assistant as this software will be aware of what all your smart things in the house are doing.

Inverter Noob Clarity
With Lithium you can buy one now then add another later without affecting the system balance - this is a key benefit over the other battery types. And the answer to your question is yes it shouldn't be an issue

New Installation - Have to do this / Some Queries
Welcome to the light and all the best with the install. Keen to see how it comes along.

Geyser During Loadshedding
Yup - that's one of the key use cases for the Aux port. You COULD also put them on essentials then control them using a smart switch (CBI Astute)

Remote display options for inverter
i don't know anyone who has done that before - i do not believe the Inverter as a unit is designed to be 'on the network' - hence the need for dongles / additional hardware. i could be wrong though - am sure other more learned people can correct me
-
Remote display options for inverter
yes you can - the devices plug into different ports on the inverter

Remote display options for inverter
Solar Assistant is your best bet - installed on a Raspberry Pi and it shows your data on a phone / web page with data refreshes of less than 5seconds

Prepaid meter and number of panels
8 sounds just about right, you may even be able to get a 9th on there but 8 is good. Some PP meters do have issues and thus require installation of a plug thays connected before the inverter, not sure about that specific one. I have the newer wireless one from Conlog and that's got no issues

SunSynk 5KW Inverter settings
It's not critical...you can e tend using UTP cable, I extended mine with a 15m ethernet cable and it works great

Tuya/Yeelight Bulbs with Sonoff push button (Zigbee Bridge) - Help
yeah - i have a machine as well that runs my plex, blueiris nvr and home assistant - used to run HA on a Pi but got rid of it. Shout if you need help

Tuya/Yeelight Bulbs with Sonoff push button (Zigbee Bridge) - Help
as a side-note - you can also run HomeAssistant on a PC / laptop that you have that always on - you dont have to run it on a PI

Eddie
sounds like 0.5c battery - ideally try not to use microwave / kettle or other high draw items during LS with only 1 battery. If you get a 2nd battery you'd be safer
-
Inverter size
I believe difference between Aux and Non-Essential is that Aux is available when there is no Eskom while Non-Essentials is not

PV data needed for thesis
Will see if I can extract that data for you from my solar assistant instance

First steps to going full solar?
It is possible... maybe also take a look at the off-grid experiment thread to see real world challenges

Sunsynk 8KW with Hubble AM2
Yes the dongle will tell you at a high level what your inverter, panels, battery and loads are doing. Since you bought now you SHOULD get the new sunsynk dongle which also allows you to control inverter and battery settings remotely from your phone.
-
Sunsynk 8KW with Hubble AM2
The inverter will come with a dongle that will allow you to monitor and change settings relating to charge thresholds etc. The Hubbles connect via a RIOT cloudlink device which allows for firmware updates and battery monitoring as well Both connect to your LAN

Sunsynk 8KW with Hubble AM2
Duh... apologies I clearly missed that in the title..haha
-
Sunsynk 8KW with Hubble AM2
Sure - happy to help - which inverter are you using the hubble with? Yeah their website has the most up to date data as well
-
Sunsynk 8KW with Hubble AM2
ah ok - yeah the battery should come with comms cables then you just plug it in the right port on the Inverter and the battery. Do the config on the inverter and bobs your uncle the battery and inverter should start talking
-
Sunsynk 8KW with Hubble AM2
Did the battery not come with a comms cable? It would look like a normal ethernet cable but with a different pin-out
