Not wrong per se without understanding your requirements and usage of the system. Basically what that shows is that the inverter will always use the grid to charge batteries to those levels in those time slots. Also your batteries will never go below 60% So it DOES stand to reason that you wont have any solar input because your batteries are charged to minimum 80% by the grid between 9am and 1pm and then topped up to 100% again from grid from 1pm to 5pm. If you want the solar to charge batteries and run the house then untick the Grid tickbox for those timeslots. If you do not want to use the grid to charge the batteries then untick for the other timeframes as well

Yes you can - Solarman dongle connect on the RS232 port while Solar Assistant uses the RS485 port. I have it setup like that on my 5kw Sunsynk. Deye should be the same

FWIW their updates are pretty decent in that they have never broken anything in the almost 1 year i've been using Solar Assistant Currently running 2022-10-26 and no issues on my 5kw Sunsynk

If you are already on HA then maybe consider a CBI astute for your pool pump - its Tuya based but works flawlessly and doesn't have wifi issues like some other IoT devices. You can use the standard Tuya HA integration or go for the localTuya - both work well.

Smart bulbs are.... terrible to say the least. Its possible its still hooked onto the previous AP - are you able to tweak AP settings or see whats connected to what? Might be easier to just reset the bulb and re-adopt it

Its difficult to say without knowing what the battery, PV and load are doing at those exact moments. But yes the inverter will draw more momentarily when waiting for PV or batteries to match load

Yes it can be double (per spec) but it also depends what rate you want to charge and discharge them. Some prefer to charge at a lower rate than max

Yes you need to manually update the 100 to 200Ah. You might also want to update the A Charge and A Recharge Amps

Most generic smart devices need the internet to work because the master server is in the cloud (in china or europe somewhere). If they can't reach it then the smartness is negated. So people flash tasmota because it allows local control - even if the internet is down your devices are still smart because you essentially control them from your own LAN. It also helps if you are more privacy focused as your data wont go to the corporations that made the devices Node-red is used to sequence actions based on a number of inputs and outputs, so you create an automation that checks the solar forecast for tomorrow, if this is above XkWh then perform certain functions, else don't do those functions, do another set of functions I also have a couple of Sonoffs that work as-is - but i definitely see the benefit of something like tasmota - i just don't have the skill to do it I guess it all boils down to what are your use cases and how do you want to achieve them

Well there was that "breach" on the solarman portal where the master password was included in some code - so its challenging. For normal users how do they even start to manage this? More advanced users can do VLans etc but its tricky

Welcome to the light side 🙂 Points 2 and 6 are me right now - got a 5kw and installed it in the kitchen next to the DB - wife wasn't chuffed but went ahead anyways. Now with expansion on the cards (another 5kw and battery) it all has to be moved to the garage and now i get endless side-eyes of "i told you so"... great post and enjoy the production

this doesn't give us much info to help with. Whats your budget? How long do these need to run (Stage 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6?) Is it only for Loadshedding?

There is quite a large community on MyBB that has good insights and experience with HomeAssistant. The application itself has also matured and made a lot of things easier. The main benefit of HA is local control AND ability to work across manufacturers - So your Sonoff device can influence what happens with the Tuya and Aqara devices based on these conditions. The Sonoff integration to HomeAssistant is pretty stable and easy to implement
