The Victron defaults are for 16-series batteries. Pylontech is 15s. So if you have Pylontech or Dyness batteries, you have to adjust them down.
The dynamic cut-off curve is only used while the grid is connected. When running islanded, it only switches off once the low-voltage cut-off is reached, or if the BMS disconnects the DC supply.
The dynamic cut-off curve is more important for lead acid batteries. For lead acid, a single cut-off voltage is not sufficient. A 12V battery that is at 11.5V with no load is almost completely empty while one at 10.5V that is doing a 0.2C discharge may be more than half full. The cut-off curve provides an intelligent way to to have a load-dependent cut-off point. It is not as serious with LiFePO4 since those batteries have much better current delivery capability.
When you have a BMS in the system that will disconnect, or send a DCL=0 request (Discharge Current Limit), you don't really need the cut-off curve. That is why the instructions call for just setting them all to some low voltage. It avoids reaching the cutoff unnecessarily.
It is important to not set the cut-foff too high. If you do that, the inverter will go into sustain mode too easily. For example, it might go into sustain at higher loads and 30% SOC, because the voltage starts drooping a bit too much.
(Sustain mode is when the inverter charges the battery at a low charge current to protect it from damage. Again, more important for lead acid batteries).
So given that you already have DCL control and a BMS that can disconnect the DC bus, it is okay to set the dynamic cut-off nice and low so it does not cause you issues lower down.
Note also that the inverter activates a pre-alarm once you get within 1.2V of the 0.002C value. If you set that value too high, you will get a pre-alarm even though the battery has plenty of juice left. So that is another reason to set it nice and low.

One question though: on VEConfigure on the charger tab, i have the "configured for VE.Bus BMS" unchecked. seems to be working fine as is .
Would like to know the settings of other users...

Keep in mind the responsibility if he(electrician)would issue the COC and your house burns down and there is casualties he will face the music. It is not the common practice the way you are doing it and Sans regulation stipulates you need to have strain relieve on any wire from one meduim to another. So yes explain why you think it will not be a problem safety could be interpreted in many ways.

Maybe some of the forum electricians can be more clear with the SANS rules for that.

You will need the following

I can't recall exactly but you connect the usb to rs485 to the battery via the RS485 port pins 4 and 5. Open the software and select the com port that the converter was assigned and connect. If it doesn't work swap the wire polarity on the converter. Once connected go to the item on the side where the protocol can be changed (can't recall what this is called as well it's been a while). Change the protocol to WOW RS485. Connect the battery to the Luxpower on the CANBUS port with pins 1 and 2 straight and choose battery brand 21. Make sure all dip switches are off.
Note that I have since swapped the battery type to lead acid and set a float voltage of 50 and charge voltage of 53. The way these BMSs talk to the inverter causes micro charging / discharging which isn't good for the battery (subjective).

Looking at the thread, the BMS is a copy of the Seplos... which is fairly well supported w.r.t software, plenty code around to read the values

FALSE MARKETING! I found out after purchase that Victron only supports CAN BMS communication and not RS485. And this is what I was trying to get out of them if this thing supports CAN or not.

Did you use the CAN or RS485 communication ports? Check your User Manual, then try a standard RJ45 cable on the RS485 ports.
If the PIN's on the inverter and battery do not match, you may need to crimp a customised communication cable.
The next step would be to try out the Battery Brands on the inverter: try Standard or Polyntech maybe
I bought an NEnergy 3.8KW 48V 80A battery, the pin layouts on the RS485 port seems to match the RS485 pin layout on the Luxpower Eco Hybrid SNA 5000 inverter:
PIN 1: RS485 B
Pin 2: RS485 A
I am still waiting for an installer to get the Certificate of Compliance. Hopefully the communication will work outright!

Yup, they drilled through the tiles. I had them mask up all of the spots wheer they were going to drill and then to use a ceramic drill bit on non-hammer mode to get through the tiles without damaging them, then once they hit concrete they swicthed to a masonary bit on hammer drill. Rawl-bolts were used with everything except the trunking mounts as they were speed plugs I think. Not much weight to hold there.

Solved it.
For those who are wondering.
1. The Ultra Energy 4.8kWh batteries dated from this year, they are using an AIENEGY BMS which is a clone of the Seplos BMS. The BMS monitoring software I can provide upon request the Seplos monitoring software does not work.
2. To communicate with the Luxpower SNA5000 the BMS need to be set to WOW RS485 protocol in the monitoring software
3. The Luxpower needs to be set on brand 21
4. Cable is standard RS485 pin 1 to pin 1 and pin 2 to pin 2, NOTHING else connected. CANBUS port on the battery side and CANBUS/RS485 on the Luxpower side.
5. All dip switches to off
Works perfectly
