cp69 got a reaction from Shai in Home Assistant Eskom PrepaidI'm looking for something similar to this but I am not on prep paid. I would just like a simple counter that mimics my actual meter reading so I can view it in ha. Ie: if I can input my current meter reading and then it will continue to count based on my 'total consumed entity' in HA.

cp69 got a reaction from Nolwazi in Hithium cellsI'd be interested in adding another 15kw to my setup considering the current lithium cell prices. I paid nearly double a year ago. I've been very happy with my eve cells

cp69 got a reaction from DeonBez in Hithium cellsYeah that is quite pricey just for my 11kw 16 cell battery. But..... I am thinking of adding another 32 300ah cells and building a power wall

cp69 got a reaction from Steve87 in 30 panel installation ideasAh thanks that answers my 3 phase question. At these panel prices it just makes sense as the roi can be within 36 months. I might consider looking at some 2nd hand options. Like 2 x 8kw sunsynks for under 40k that would get the install to around 100k without batteries. That gets the roi to around 30 months. I would also be future proof with the ability to add batteries

cp69 got a reaction from Travis Slier in Pv cable HOT!Aaah brilliant, gave the cable a yank at the mc4 connection(after turning off the entire system obviously) and it pulled out so obviously a bad crimping job by me. Replaced and sorted. I'll actually do a little yank test on all the connections on the new DC and AC combiner boxes to make sure all is happy
Thanks guys. Legends!!

cp69 reacted to Muttley in Home Assistant Sunsynk Power Flow Card and DashboardHi @slipx
Have you considered adding in the current load shedding stage and perhaps time left until load shedding ends on the card?
Was wondering if this is something you've considered adding on the grid side, above the pylon icon.

cp69 got a reaction from Greglsh in Apexium EVE cellsAre your rj45 ports+lights on a separate board or all mounted on the BMS PCB?
Led lights you honestly don't need to see. I extended the display cable and i have installed the display near the inverter. Terrible pic but you get the idea

cp69 got a reaction from Greglsh in EVE Lf304 build@Greglsh yeah no problem you can get in touch with me. I import from China and Taiwan every month so I can add one in a shipment for you

cp69 got a reaction from Greglsh in EVE Lf304 buildHow's your diy battery pack performing? I've been very happy with mine even during discharge the cell difference is always 3-6mv. Very impressive

cp69 got a reaction from zsde in Apexium EVE cellsI got cells from Apexium and BMS from seplos. This Apexium BMS looks identical to my seplos. CAN comms work perfectly fine with my Solis s6 which I think is what you have. The BMS is working better than expected and I'm getting much better balancing than the YouTuber - off grid garage. My cells have a 3-10mv voltage variation at all times. Quite impressive.

cp69 got a reaction from Pho3niX90 in Solis S6 Pro Hybrid Inverter ReviewAaah. That makes a lot more sense now. I installed my inverter before the lithium cells arrived and although you can use the inverter with no batteries when there is no batteries or PV the inverter shuts down. So I installed some lead acid batteries which were knowingly not usable anymore just to keep the inverter running in the evenings. With the lead acid batteries it was charging/discharging exactly as you describe. I then just resorted to switching the change over switch to eskom in the evenings and turn off the inverter. I think with lead acid batteries it still needs a bms. Once you have a lithium battery I think all your troubles will be sorted

cp69 got a reaction from Pho3niX90 in Solis S6 Pro Hybrid Inverter ReviewI'm enjoying mine. Certainly does blend the power inputs(pv,grid, bat) to provide the load.
App is live(or every 5s) if you're connected over Bluetooth. 5min refresh if you're viewing via the cloud. I do think the deye software is more refined and reliable but the solis has so much more potential once they get the app running perfectly. Solar assistant integration would also be amazing. It's coming I believe. The 6kw for me is the perfect size I have not yet overloaded it and I run my entire house except geyser on it. I've hit 5500w many times so I would've come up short or had to do some managing on a deye/sunsynk 5kw.
-
cp69 got a reaction from Scorp007 in Solar advice on designI think the 9.6kw on the solis is the overall limit combined on both pv inputs. The limit per mppt is the current and/or the voc. I don't think it's limited to 4800w per mppt? I have 10 X jinko 550w panels on my solis 6kw and haven't had any issues. Interesting these hit 5500 - 6000w peak often. Haven't had any issues yet

cp69 got a reaction from zsde in Solis S6 Pro Hybrid Inverter ReviewAt this stage I have it with me and it looks great 🙂 I am still waiting for batteries and BMS to arrive(DIY build). Should be end of this month. Panels are going up this weekend so hopefully the S6 will be connected and running(without batteries) by the end of next week

cp69 got a reaction from zsde in Solis S6 Pro Hybrid Inverter Review@AlexTZA you should be a Solis brand ambassador!! The knowledge you have shared on this topic is of high value - infact the only reason I purchased my s6 pro. So thank you and Solis should show you their appreciation!!
