Yes, it is a business like any other one and is intended to make profits but keeping a private hospital compliant to government regulations to which they themselves do not adhere to is unbelievable expensive. Rather look at the companies supplying equipment especially life support equipment and the breakages due to negligence from nursing staff is unreal. Just 3 temp probes, 6 SPO2 probes and a few cables adds up to 67k and that is in one week in one ward and not even specialised equipment. People only see the basics when visiting a hospital but believe me there is more to it behind the scenes. Currently to build a new private hospital the cost is between 2 and 3 bar per bed everything included.

I installed a 48v unit on my swimming pool pump (1.1kw) outlet as a test and it balanced out the pump usage with a little bit spare.

Stay away from grid tie at this stage if you have pre paid meter!

It sounds maybe like a challenge but will you still think so when I send the family of people who died in ICU due to the fact that generators at hospitals run out of diesel and that nobody can deliver life supporting diesel because of everything you mentioned. The level of stress sky rocket because you can plan as much as you like but you can't prevent the inevitable from happening. Plonkster, there is a clear pattern in my opinion, every time eskom is running short of cash the loadshedding starts due to failing plants but the moment money lands loadshedding stops although it was impossible to do the "repairs" in such a short time. To me it looks like extortion.

It is just extortion on the highest level! Major repair issues but the moment the 11 billion loan cheque cleared the bank load-shedding taper off within days. This game they are playing to get higher tariffs to feed the over staffed monster will go too far and end up with a 2 week blackout.

Tx Plonster, sneaked off and tried it. The moment I turn the ct around the epm does not see the ct anymore. These units seems to be of good quality but after sales service non existing. I am also unsure about the feedback setting, manual does not give values.

Agree, we need a "boer manual" I can recommend going the ESS route.

All that I can add is that ESS does work, less stress on my batteries since ESS was installed and had no issues thus far. If I had to install it myself it would have taken forever to get it right. The info or manual is as clear as mud to me and I have a old school B Eng Sci . If it was not for this forum I would have still be struggling with my setup, TTT and Plonkster, you guys give so much info to other users. Keep it up! "Plonkster, jy is n blou yster!"

I got mine for 290 because I took 12 from local pool shop.

The pads are made of durable plastic/rubber, like the old fuel bladders one used to get. Actually it absorb heat from the panels which cool them down and increase efficiency. Intex make them, can buy them at Makro.

Look at https://www.acsuperstore.co.za/solar-air-conditioning I have 4 running and they work great. They use around 550w each during the day and 800w each during the night on a mix of battery power and eskom. My house has a slate roof on which I have twelve panels mounted, I got the bright idea to put above ground pool heating pads under the panels to heat water circulating through them to heat the pool. Even now in winter at around 12:00 the water temp reach 52C entering the pool. During summer it can reach 76 degrees. Think one can feed a radiator in the room during the day which should heat it enough for the evening. I keep my pool of 37000 liter at 34C without a cover in the summer. Those pads are cheap and comes in 600 x 600 and 1.2 x 600 compared to other heating panels.

There are nice new hybrid inverter split aircons available that can run off 3 x 330 panels during the day and a mix of battery and eskom power at night.

They tried to knock me twice but Plonkster gave me some assistance to get in contact with OnTrack, will not use anybody else for Victron equipment.

Jaco, Rather go for OnTrack, they are far better than Current Automation. They actually walk the extra mile for clients. The fact that they are in CPT won't matter one bit.

Plonkster, TTT, Thank you for helping out with the problem, you guys acted in true spirit of the forum. Very impressed with OnTrack's service with special tx to Halgard and Hayley! They even saved me 3.2k on courier costs back to me. if everything goes according to plan it should be operation reinstalling Blue Technology with the new Venus GX. Next week I'll start to shop for Lithium batteries, so soon there will be a nice complete starter kit for sale. Thanks again. Ronnie

Thank you everybody for the support on the site, just to mention Triplett, my investment in Victon thus far: 1 x 5kv quattro 3 x 150/85 MPPT's 2 x 10 KVA Quattro's (1 x distroyed by a light static attack, not product fault) So closer to 200k. Maybe that could be a slight instigator towards my frustration...... Don't want to move to the dark side Ronnie
