    I don't think that it is available on the web logger. The web logger and powermonitor.co.za show what power is been used, not what is available.

    What you are looking for is an irradiance meter. They often use a small solar panel and are calibrated very accurately. For your purposes, if you just connect the leads of your 10W panel together through a low resistance shunt then you can measure the short-circuit current by measuring the voltage across the shunt. This should give you an idea of the available PV power. Of course you will need to 'calibrate' the reading by comparing the measurement to the actual PV production.

    I use the cloud hub and their wifi switches to control my borehole, pool pump and pressure pump. My friend Paul wrote a script to activate the switches using data from the Microcare power monitor.

    So to underline TTTs point above, if you are spending a lot of money on power, spending a lot  more on on solar will not solve your problem. Change your consumption habits firstly,  and solar may not even be necessary .
    I am off grid because the sums worked, no other reason, the eskom line fee made it feasible, after all other savings had been made.
    And PaulF is spot on with the 543 story, that works in the off grid situation 100%

    It "helps" to have never had eskom in a rural setting. The money saved on eskom installation and line charges subsidises the off grid solar. @pilotfish is right about KZN. We often have 3 to 4 days rainy days in summer. This means that we need that many days of autonomy. I have run my generator at least 4 times last summer. I am not technical and i have found that there is a steep learning curve and it takes a lot of management. On the plus side having power when everyone else is bleating on the whatsapp group is priceless.

    Also a constant charging day and night, cloudy or sunny would keep the battery at higher charge and possibly mean longer life.

    There is this thing about American law. That's if I even get it. If I sell something to you, and it doesn't work, it's my fault, and you can sue me. If however I sell you the PLANS (blue prints, etc), an it doesn't work... then it is YOUR fault. So every one of these scams work by not selling you a product but instead selling you the plan. The marketing material always have this huge emotional angle to it, or sometimes it will do the old spiel blaming the oil companies (you know, they don't WANT you to know, it's a conspiracy you see!), and then right at the end there will be this thin bit about how it works. Sick of it. HHO and engines running on water and fuel saver devices and charge pumps pretending to generate energy out of thin air...

    The biggest problem is that i'm impatient and everyone was closed over the long weekend. Microcare are always very helpful on the phone. Their sales manager has told me that they are re writing the manuals. 
    I have learnt a hell of a lot in the last few days. I have also decided to increase my system by 50%

    Sorry for the delay...

    Before you add more kit why don't you:

    set the Boost Voltage to 15V (edited from 16) (Menu 9.2)


    set the Boost to Float time to 2 hours (Menu 9.3)


    and monitor when the Boost Voltage is close to 16V


    The you will be in effect equalising the bank using the boost voltage setting (for Max 2 hrs) ... when you hear the batteries bubbling nicely then keep an eye for gassing and revert the Boost voltage to 14.5 when you feel its had enough.... Watch them carefully... you don't want to over charge/equalise!

    I don't know the batteries or the MPPT well enough but Microcare should also be able to help.

    Can anyone telll me how to perform an equalise charge with 2 x 60 amp microcare mppts?
    I have a microcare 10kw inverter, 2 x 60 amp mppts and 24 Mte 25 1660 ah cells. 
    On the roof I have 24 x 245 watt art solar panels   We are totally off the grid  
    Edit. I have read the manual many times.
