Sunsynk 8kW AcOverCurr fault (F18)
I had a similar issue today during loadshedding. Also a 2 year old 8k but on e41c 6006 firmware. In my case the MPPT was generating 1 to 2 kw since it is overcast and drizzling. It "tripped" three times in the space of about 10 minutes while the output power was a little over 4kw. I could see an instantaneous peak of just over 6 Kw on Solar Assistant, but then lost connection due to Wifi dying. No alarm, no fault codes. Resets itself and starts up again.

Sunsynk 8kW - Micro Inverter Input Test
Wanted to test the functioning of a Grid Tied inverter as input on the Aux port of my 8k Sunsynk with battery storage. Ran a temporary cable from my 2nd, Grid tied, 8kW Sunsynk into my Aux port and simulated a grid outage to run the batteries down to the 96% start up setting. It worked as described - the only problem being how the input power is displayed. On the flow diagram the Aux input shows only 2w when the input was actually around 800w. That is not the strangest. When I stopped the test by changing the setting back from Micro Inverter to generator, the Aux and the UPS displayed 32,700w and 33,300w respectively. It stayed that way until I restored grid input and then normalized. Any idea of what it can be ?

Leoch and Shoto Parallel Installation
Hi @Geda, I am wondering why you decided to add a Shoto instead of another Leoch. I see a few problems here : 1) The Leoch is a 15s - 48 volt Nominal battery whereas the Shoto is 16s - 51.2 volt Nominal. They require different charge voltages and voltage at 100% SOC in one would not be the same in the other. 2) Two different brands would not necessarily communicate. In fact it is unlikely, unless you have some information stating that these two will. 3) Just because the one is set as Master ( for its particular model) and the one as Slave ( for its model) does not mean they will act accordingly. My opinion would be that these two are not compatible. For reference I have three Hubble X-100's and two Leoch LFeLi 48100TB's connected in one bank. The difference being they are both 15s - 48v Nominal batteries and as far as I could establish are materially identical. Even so, they use different protocols and do not communicate. I think the lack of industry standards in the protocols batteries use to communicate with Inverters - and probably with other batteries - is a big problem in the solar industry.

@PowerUser , Is there a chance we could use your Topic for all Sunsynks ? I'm sure the 8k and 12k 3phase owners would also find it useful and there are only a few models. Maybe just edit your heading and ask the guys to clearly mention 5k or 8k or 12k with the firmware version.

Sunsync inverter not working
I have a 8k running in Grid Tied mode. Had the F13 fault initially. Set it up as No battery and mains on the Grid Input - worked immediately. Even without the CT coil connected. Maybe do a Factory Reset and try again. I agree with @Craig Pottinger in that you can not connect to the Load Port.

Pylontech - Any reason not to buy ?
Many thanks for all the replies. Now that we have established the brand - Should I do US3000c's or UP5000's ? Any opinions on that choice ?

I would say that is an overwhelming "Yes" to purchase Pylontech. The ironic thing is that, when I went in to my local Solar shop in Jan 2021 to buy the Sunsynk and batteries, I had nothing in mind except Pylons. Then he started talking about 1C batteries and how easy it would be to fall foul of the Pylontech warrantee due to overcurrent drawn. That is when he brought up Hubble - which was the first time I ever heard of them. I bought the 3 x Hubble X-100's and 6 months later when I wanted to add two more, they had discontinued the model with no compatible replacement. That forced me to buy the two Leoch/Averge 48100 TB's - which are apparently materially identical. Except they use different communication protocols. So now the three Hubble X-100's communicate via Riot with the Sunsynk and I have Solar Assistant reading the two Leoch 48100's as well as the Sunsynk to compare the two battery types and see all Inverter statistics.

Pylontech - Any reason not to buy ?
Is there any reason not to buy Pylontech UP5000's for a roughly 25kwhr pack running with a 8kw Sunsynk ? Prices seem competitive when compared to the other options - Hubble/Dyness/BSL and what else ? I don't notice many Pylontech complaints on this forum. Not too confident about Hubble AM2's currently. If, like in this case there are multiple packs - the current limitations which is normally mentioned alongside Pylontech advice - will not be an issue. For background : I have a 5 x 4.8kwh battery pack cosisting of 3 x Hubble X-100's + 2 x Leoch/Averge 48100TB's also running with a Synsynk 8k. My question here is for another system I am planning. Any advice from existing Pylontech users or Installers would be appreciated.

Hi @Freakazoid, I checked out a Deye manual and they actually explain the working correctly. I presume your 95 % is the "On" battery setting ? I agree it works perfectly for my geyser operation as well.

Sunsynk 8k Aux Load Output - My Experience
I want to explain my findings on how my Smart load output functions. In my opinion, there are discrepancies in Youtube videos from Sunsynk as well as their newest Installer Manual explaining this function. I have a 150 litre geyser connected to mine and it operates as follows : 1) The solar power setting has nothing to do with the max power output - which is how they explain it. It is purely the PV power limit at which the relay will close and power the aux load Or open to disconnect, if it falls below the setting for a certain duration. It does not limit the power output. 2) If you have grid available and the total load - normal loads + Smart load - exceeds the PV available, it draws the balance from the grid and not from the battery. 3) If grid is not available it draws the balance from the battery - Starting when battery reaches the "Aux load ON Batt" setting which is 100 % in my case. It switches off when the battery reaches " Aux load OFF Batt" - 95% for me. It will not come on again - even if PV surpases the Power setting (4000w for me) until the battery reaches the ON Batt setting again. 4) On grid always on will always supply power to the Smart load output, when the box is ticked and grid available. This can only be useful if manually enabled, after a rainy day, to "top up" your geyser. Hope this is useful to someone.

Adding a used Solarman Logger to Solarman App
I've purchased a used Solarman Wifi Logger to use on a Sunsynk 8k. When I try to add the Logger to my Plant on the Solarman Smart App it says something like " Logger already in use on another plant. Please refrain from adding multiple times" Any idea of how I can get it to work ?
