  1. Correct but what I don't understand is why it jumps to battery to supply loads after its 100 percent and PV doesn't take over . The solar line also disappears.
  2. If I recall correctly around 98 percent
  3. So far the only issue observed is that after battery is fully charged the growatt stops PV from powering the loads (SBU) it then uses battery to power the load even though solar is available. Checked also that charge source is solar. Also when charging from pV it's not charging at full amps, solar option 2 says 8a but it's not configurable. However load kicks in then solar powers the load up to 3.5kw but not the same for charging.
  4. I will ask them now have if a BMS update is required have the Growatt guy on what's app. Using US3000 Pylontech
  5. Yeah they sent me a link with firmware but I am on the attached version. Was just reading page 4 and 5 here
  6. Yeah thanks just saw, need help with firmware please.
  7. Okay so BMS cable is in and as described, however now inverter won't charge at full capacity from solar. Battery is at 49.8v but inverter says its 98% charged, the Li symbol does show on the inverter. Also its stops supplying the load from solar and switches to battery setting is SBU
  8. Already in touch with them but waiting for them to confirm firmware mentioned here in this thread, so far they have sent me the details of how to get the BMS link. Just need to see if the firmware update is required. Agree with this if we can sign partition with a list of our names I can senD to the Growatt team responsible for Africa
  9. Latest updated, ditched the pi zero and replaced it with a Sonoff Wifi R3 device. Had a few cold water days because PI became unresponsive. Yeah wife was ready divorce papers 🤣 Logs showed memory heap error before pi would say bye! Thinking a Pi 2B+ or higher would of done the job. Working fine for the last 3 months with the Sonoff.
  10. Pm sent sir please help me as well
  11. So adding a capacitor should help with smoothing it out.
  12. Hi Guys Hope someone can shed light on buzz from dimmer switch 1. Tried two dimmer switches (major tech and wifi enable dimmer switch) get a weird buzz from the lights (LED GU10 Luceco Dimmable 8 connected in series) 2. When dimmer is on full power (no dimming) I hear no buzz 3. I can hear the earth leakage also buzzing when the lights are dimmed (AC DC Earth Leakage) 4. The lights are behind my inverter and weather I am using the inverter or eskom bypass I get the same buzz 5. The flickering was worse on the wifi dimmer switch Its driving me nuts, should I move the led lights off earth leakage ? should I try another phase as the house is on 3 phase power ? Should I give up on my dream to control this lights remotely from google or phone ? Thanks
  13. I can get some but the newer models which are quite a bit more for the 5KVA
  14. Growatt
  15. Selling again. Condition is used price is 8k. Perfect working order. I now have to used ones for sale. 8k each Both with WiFi. Works with Gel Lead type batteries and supercapacitors
  16. Hi Guys I have got a good setup running for my home 12 x JA Panels, 4kw Inverter, and Supercap. Works like a charm. Except I don't run my geysers on it as it will overload the system and drain the cap in no time. I was wondering if any of you guys use an inverter on the geyser only ? And if so what inverter is it ? I want to get my geyser on an inverter with solar only (no battery) so the inverter would need to be capable of running without a battery. Should solar not be available it should fail back to grid. My problem is I have 2 x Geysers so if I can get an inverter setup with solar then I will alternate the times they heat up. I have looked at geyser wise etc they all come in around 20k for 150l geysers (problem is my 250l geyser uses up to 4kw to heat) so geyserwise etc won't work
  17. Check your bill if its estimated reading... If it is that's most likely why its high. Compared estimated reading to current reading
  18. Suppose to add more.... hit send by mistake Does anyone have a contact at COJ who can assist ?
  19. Hi Guys COJ incorrectly billed me, they did an estimated reading on my electricity bill, they are saying I used 70kwh per day my actual reading is 25kwh a day. They dont answer phones very frustrating
  20. Installed a Pylontech system recently with a mecer infinisolar works good so far.
  21. Correct, the one I built is for my upstairs geysers. Building another one to control my pool (when my battery is full charged and I feel Solar energy is going to waste), boundary wall lights and down stairs geyser. Built something similar two years ago but for my garage with email alerts for doors opening and closing using the raspberry pi and glad to report it still works like a charm. Although the garage pi is not as complex as the one I just built. 🙂
  22. This is my own solution and offering, my company is called STP Networks. Just FYI I am not here to advertise just share. I am still working on temperature readings and quite some time away from getting it correct and I am not entirely sure if it's needed as yet. Got the contactor from ARB
  23. I am bald lol... The pi is monitored by both external and internal servers so will get emails upon failure. Just need to prepare myself to sleep on the couch the day I actually miss the alert 🤣
  24. Recently ditched my stupid timer And built this: *Already installed this for 2 of my customers who are quite happy with how it all works* Raspberry Pi Controlled Geyser Timer. Components used: 1. Raspberry Pi Zero 2. Relay to drive the contactor 3. Din Rail 220~240v to 5v DC Power Supply for the Pi 4. 1 x 6A CB for to supply power to the above 5. 20A CB for the Geyser 6. 20A Contactor for the geyser Outstanding for my setup: 25amp changeover switch to bypass the Raspberry Pi controlled system incase something goes wrong with the pi. Integrated with google assistant so I can tell google via voice commands when to switch on and off, this will override the automatic timers. Emails alerts as well to notify me when the timer kicks in. Working on the LCD display with temperature and current sensor next......
