  1. Who is the local support centre for Fivestar ? And what are the warranty clauses I see tons of people going with Fivestar kit, some of these installs lack the bare minimum for a supplementary Electrical COC. So very curios as to which company services these units based on faults etc.
  2. I use HA, Solar Assistant and Sonoff devices not to turn my pool and small geyser if my battery SOC is not above 95 percent, if battery is above 95 they will turn on, this is timed during the day. HA is checking every minute If SOC is not above 95 it usually means it’s a cloudy day Then I use HA to turn on certain outside lights during load shedding this is timed at night.
  3. Once you have BMS up and running, set all timers (start and end) to 0:00 to 0:00, this should allow the inverter to kick over to Eskom after sunset. Ac Start charge at 95% SOC, and End Charge at 100% SOC Use the Web App to setup this inverter the menu on the inverter is a pain.
  4. We were called to clean up an installation, some fly by night installer blew up 1 x Lux power unit, and left the other standing. We found some shocking things: 1. No Surge Protection 2. No PV DB, no fuses, do DC SPD 3. No Battery Isolator 4. AC Breakers were being used on customers PV String, two suppose to come down one was left in the roof for Santa Clause 5. They wired the luxpower directly to the DB with no input/output breakers or changeover 6. They somehow thought that the PV strings must also be wired directly to the battery. 7. In correct cabling being used every where 8. Tobo batteries - BMS does not work with Luxpower 9. Panels were not secure on the roof, 1 string was wired to the inverter, the second was left with cut cables in the roof Long story short the first installer was suppose to run 2 plots with the 2 x Lux units in parallel, but they wired it series!!! Well that was a disaster and one blew up. Funny though how their website claims to have done over 4000 installs ? We put in a Sunsynk 5kw Inverter and 5kw Battery for one plot and tried to run the other with the Lux and Tobo batteries. The Lux power soon became faulty its seems input and output relay/contactors failed. Initial Pics from the brave installers When we were done: (Lux power and Tobo is now decommissioned)
  5. Sunsynk 8kw, 2 x 10kw Sunsynk Batteries and 16 545 Watt JA Solar Panels
  6. Sunsynk 12kw with 2 X Sunsynk Batteries, 12 x 550 Watt JA Solar Panels
  7. Hi There That usually happens if battery settings is not correct or bms is not happy. Did you use voltage settings or bms ?
  8. how long does it usually take upon logging the request?
  9. Hi @DeonBezhow is the inverter running after update ?
  10. They are down but there is no need to play around with them
  11. Please find attached luxpower compatibility list luxpower compatible list-20220919 (1).pdf

Luxpower confirms Tobo is not on their compatibility list

Tried phase energy they gave me a number of an installer they use, waiting further detail
  14. Treschen replied to josievich's topic in Batteries
Also looking for this info, I reached out to luxpower for help They are sold by phase energy, OP is correct nothing on Google
  15. Did you self install or go through an installer/company ? Perhaps post a picture of the inverter screen as well
  16. Depends also on how the battery was setup, if done with Voltages vs BMS.
  17. Thanks and Agreed, the customer takes it out side when he runs it. So not going to run it inside the garage.
  18. Sunsynk 8kw 10 x 545Watt Canadian Panels 1 x BSL 7kw Wired for use with Gen Customer will add a second battery and 6 more panels next month Current Power
  19. The new growatts have a BMS port, it's essentially RS485, cable goes to RS485 on battery and BMS on inverter. I usually select li under setting 005 which then jumps to setting 36 and then I set L04 under 36. Once established the Li symbol becomes permanent on the growatt. If BMS doesn't work with will throw error 04 and 20. You have to have the right pin out for the comms cable as well. This applies to ES and HVM growatt inverters no need to touch the dip switches on the Pylon. After BMS is up there nothing further to configure the inverter and BMS handles the rest with regards to voltages and charge parameters. The older gen growatt ES inverters have a CAN port.
  20. We have this too good for 5kw or smaller inverters, if I recall it's rated at 1100 watts

    Got mine from solarways
