  1. I'm glad you have such a great relationship with Gary but you're way off the mark here. I don't know who Gary is and therefore cannot have a personal gripe with him. I have a problem with the way Inverter Warehouse conducts its business. Numerous people here have complained about not being able to contact them. Typically it is good form for businesses to answer their phones and respond to emails yet you think I am obliged to contact the owner to tell him that his business is a shameful mess. Please don't pontificate to me how I should conduct myself in reacting to shoddy business practices.
  2. Just collected mine. There seem to be 3 left on the site. Let me know if anyone would like me to collect and bring up to Johannesburg/Pretoria. I am in Midrand.
  3. Even cheaper here NON-INVASIVE AC CURRENT SENSOR (100A MAX). I just ordered one and seeing as I work within a few minutes of them, I can collect.
  4. I'm not sure who's number that is but I opted to pay significantly more for better service. Also anyone Googling Inverter Warehouse will find this forum post on the amateurish nature of their business.
  5. These guys are particularly useless and no amount of good pricing can overcome such ineptitude. This is on their landing page. This is what you get when you click on the above link. Calls go unanswered. Emails are not replied to. Just bewildering!!!
  6. They're advertising for Pylontech and LG as well http://www.solarcityrsa.co.za/index.php/product/4-8kwh-pylontech-lg-chem-byd-lithium-ion-batteries-last-stock-clearance-sale-50-off/ http://www.solarcityrsa.co.za/index.php/product/4-8kwh-lg-chem-lithium-ion-batteries-last-chance-holiday-stock-clearance-sale-50-off/
  7. I agree with the thread's cored idea as well and truly welcomed the creation of it. I just wanted to point out that the Victron manual for the Multi ll is a bit sub standard. Apart from the 2 DC output gaffe they make reference to 12V and 24V Multi lls when no such models exist. It has been a source of much confusion for me.
  8. TTT, This was going to be my next move, I was just trying to figure out how?
  9. Aargh!! Lots of frustration here. I've got the Victron installed with the 4 x 260AH OmniPower batteries but the system will not function as intended IE. it will not switch over to the inverter when the grid goes down. The inverter just shuts down when the grid power is cut. I've measured my battery bank at 52.6V. I've disconnected all the batteries from each other and waited for a few hours then measured them individually, each one measured measured 13.09 on the nose. I still suspect it's the batteries at fault but how can I be certain. Is there any way to exclude the Victron unit completely? Any and all suggestions are welcome. Thank you.
  10. I have exactly the same batteries and in the 3 years that they were installed I doubt they were ever cycled even once due to zero load shedding or power failures in that time. However I suspect one of the batteries may be faulty as the inverter cannot go into ups mode when the grid goes down. It cost close to R19K for 4 when purchased and it galls me that they did not last as long as advertised. I am looking at getting a single Pylontech US2000B for now.
  11. So which DC breakers are people using between battery bank and inverter and how are they accommodating larger cable? Victron recommend 35mm for runs between 0-5m for my inverter, could I go 25mm if my run is eg. 2m?
  12. TTT, Thank you anyway. I've always wondered how people use thicker cable and circuit breakers which seem to only take smaller gauge cable.
  13. TTT, That's a huge help. I will measure against my Hagers. Thank you very much.
  14. Are these Noark DC breakers able to accept 35mm+ cable easliy? I had to resort to some embarrassing skulduggery to accommodate 35mm cable in my Hager breaker and I'm not happy with the result.
  15. I ave no idea where else to post this so.... Where is the best place to get 35mm red and black cable in Midrand / Johannesburg / Pretoria. I'll also need 35mm M6 and M8 lugs and 35mm ferrules. Good prices and available stock. Voltex in Midrand was painful to deal with, no replies to emails and when I got there they had no stock of 35mm cable. Regards
  16. Is this crimper https://www.acdc.co.za/products/hex-crimping-tool-6-50mm2-unins-terminals?variant=30479611212 good enough for occasional use or would it be considered crimping tool blasphemy? Should I shell out a bit more and get the Hellerman one that I think TTT has? Should I not even bother with cheaper crimping tools at all?
  17. I'm using the Hager MN263Z as a break er at the moment. It is DC rated as well with a different DC tripping curve. They are fairly inexpensive and seem of good enough quality. 2010CCircuitbreakers.pdf
  18. My father once explained to me in terms of girls.... I am of the opinion now that I have more bona fide Victron representatives to help me than I have of Axpert reps.
  19. I had an Axpert that quit on me after 3 years. I have moved over to Victron.
