I think we've already concluded that this is not a HYBRID and also currently not available in SA. Also not on the COCT approval list.

Sunsynk inverters are hybrid they can supply power to both essential and non essentials loads. Cost wise Sunsynk is a fraction of the price.

Victron is a grid-tried inverter. It can only power essential loads.

Jip that's what I meant it's not a hybrid, I did notice the 450VDC.

It's also not a hybrid only an inverter with mppt. You really can not compare that to a Sunsynk.

Is that on the COCT approval list? Don't think so...

Well most people would need to install more than 1 battery and after being in the market for a few years one would think that Pylontech would have upgraded their cables by now or even just offer the option but still nothing... makes me wonder...

Aah yes, I forgot about those battery cabinets on the floor or if you want to wall mount you need special brackets for the weight.

@QBannister could you possibly post some pics of the rest of the battery? Would be interesting to compare the Dyness to Pylontech to Hubble and maybe a few others.

Put a 1.5kW element in the geyser set to 70 put it on a timer to only heat during the peak times. Sunsynk inverters can supply power to non essentials loads. Some guys here run there geysers on the aux port on the inverter.

Nope it has a standard 5 year warranty with an extended 5 years IF you register the battery. Not everyone knows this and most installers don't tell their clients that they need to register the battery for the full warranty.

PylonTech The Pylon Technology lithium ferrous phosphate (LFP) batteries were some of the first lithium batteries available which enclosed both the lithium cells and battery management system in a simple rack mounted unit. The first generation Extra2000 was replaced by the US2000B which has many improvements and more robust battery cable connections. The US2000B is the same size 2.4kWh module (previously with a touch screen interface) which allows easy setup and monitoring together with connections for multiple units in parallel. PylonTech also supply higher voltage modules for commercial applications. Lithium ferrous phosphate (LFP) is generally considered the most stable of all the lithium battery chemistries especially at elevated temperatures above 40 degC (common in Australia) which is highlighted by the high battery cut-off temperature of 50 degC. Cycle life is also quite high at a claimed 6,000 cycles at 80% depth of discharge, although it is unknown what the end of life (EOL) retained capacity is after this number of cycles? The warranty is for 5 years and specifies 60% EOL capacity with the extented 10 year warranty. Note the previous warranty states no more than 360 cycles per year. Based on this the new battery performance will remain the same and we can assume 3,000 cycles at 80% DOD. The battery module operates at the nominal voltage of 48V and now has a higher peak power output of 5kW (previous model was 2.2kW) over a short discharge duration of 60 sec. The updated US2000B battery retails at the same price as the previous Extra2000. 1.92kWh (80%) usable for 3000 cycles to 70% retained capacity (EOL) Power output – Continuous @ 48V = 2.4kW, Max Peak 4.8kW (1 min) Round trip efficiency = 94% US2000B = AU$1290 (US$1100) – Cost per usable kWh = AU$752 US2000B - Warranty: 10 years (after online registration) to 60% retained capacity. I'm aware of the Pylontech rating on the AU site. It would also be quite interesting to know the age of the batteries.

Great support for the Sunsynk as for the Fusion it's a rebranded Deye.

@NewbieNewbie like @Vassen said it's important to know if it's a Pure sinewave or modified sine 12v/24v or 48v, also what you'll be running of the system as modified sinewave sometimes creates interference with electronics. On something like that it would be a waste of money to try and integrate it into a house the electrician would cost you 3x what the system dit because he'll have to split the loads. Rather run it as a UPS. If your inverter is 12v the mppt and batteries also needs to be 12v.

@Moffat Sunsynk inverters are great an the support absolutely amazing even asking for help here on the forum is quickly answered. Do youself a favour and go to the Commercial section on this forum, have a look at Backbone energy. There you can familiarize yourself with the inverter and the type of support offer. The Deye inverter is not as good as the Sunsynk when it comes to support, usability and software. And NO you can NOT use 24v batteries on a 48v system unless you can reconfigure the batteries to 48v.

That's correct if you're going to use something like a lead acid battery that can only be discharged to 50% to prevent damage.

@ADuPF according to that screenshot everything seems to be working correctly. You're generating 2.78kW from solar and it gets supplemented by 2kW from Eskom that in turn services you load at 4.73kw. You have a 0.05 loss which I'll attribute to self consumption on the inverter. If it just stopped working all of a sudden it could be almost anything, from a faulty cable to a faulty inverter but it should give an error code that's why I asked for a current screenshot to see if anything changed.

@YellowTapemeasurethere is no battery. @ADuPFdo you have a current screenshot that shows the error to compare?

@Moffat I got this from @ HubbleLithium : Self discharge on the AM-2 5.5KW is less than 5% per month. Rememebr the cycle is 3000 cycles then the battery is at 80% life left still, so still works perfectly after 3000 cycles. The AM-2 uses the latest new BYD cells.
