    Just want to share the video I put together on how I connected my Home Assistant to my BSL Batteries.
    Took a while to get it to work but I think I have worked out most of the kinks, let me know what you guys think.

    Ok, it works fine now. In addition to all the tips in this forum I found something on the 4x4 Community Forum.

    Wouldn't buy anything online from a supplier that doesn't accept payments via credit card. 
    If you pay by card ,you can get your money back if goods are not delivered.

    Tim, your statements are false and i disagree with you. I am a Hydro Engineer based in south africa. Efficiencies add up through a system by multiplying each one together. Let me give you an example from our hydros we supply:
    Overall efficiency = Turbine x Generator x hydraulic(pipeline) x electrical losses(inverter, rectification etc.)
    Typical calc: Turbine at 90% x Generator at 90% x Hydraulic line at 95% x Electrical losses 90%
    Therefore overall efficiency is 0.9*0.9*0.95*0.9= 69%

    Just break the 2P and run each set of 8S and compare them if they face in the same direction. Once you know which string you can do the 4S one by one and compare again.

    @Sc00bs Cool, yea just had a chat with my neighbor after he got his batteries back earlier this week and the answer he got from hubble when he ask them spesifically about using those ports on their batteries to get data to HA is a solid Nope. Utter BS imo but yea what can one do if you don't want to risk voiding a warranty, so getting the data from the canbus will be awesome.
    Eagerly awaiting that update and video.

    Good morning
    I've finally managed to get the batteries in a more stable state:
    The wacky behavior was noticed after Deye did a remote firmware update on my batteries, which changed the charging voltage on the BMS from 57.6 to 58.4V.
    Which I erroneously assumed was the culprit of this misbehavior:


    The batteries would go into an alarm state when overvoltage was reach for a cell and then drop down to a certain voltage and repeat the same cycle.
    After unplugging the CAN cable this routine would stop

    The following is over the last two days, set the battery mode to AGM and the voltage settings according to battery manual.

    Then after Deye sent be the software and firmware to flash locally, the same happened when I let the inverter and battery talk via CAN. 

    So I went back to my solar assistant graphs and recalled that I had changed a default setting called Disable Float Charge some time back, it made my battery go through these 10 hours charge and discharge cycles(which I thought strange at the time), but not disabling float charge has seem to remedy the over voltage issue experience.
    The effect of which was just exacerbated by the new firmware which upped the Charging voltage.

    So what I have learned now with these batteries and the Deye inverter, this floating charge should not be on.

    Cells are happy now.

    Which model 12KW have you got?
    I suggest you double check, the MPPT range on the 12Kw SG02 has the same limits as the 8kw inverters @ 500V, the SG04 however goes up to 800V max with optimum @ 550V.
    I would suggest having a look at the badge on your inverter to check if you have an SG04.
    If so I would get your panels changed back to S10 configuration, you could even add an extra panel onto each string :-)

    Ahhh, single phase, sry.
    You have 3 MPPT's and can parallel those panels as the max ISC is 44A (max A it will produce per string is 26A), so if you have the space on your roof you could have a truck load more panels.
    I have North, East & West strings on my 16kw and it works like a treat.

    That is exactly what i would have done. 10 panels facing North in 2 strings of 5 to Mppt 1 using both inputs( paralleled at the mppt). Same with the East string into Mppt2. Each mppt running at 250v Voc 26A Imp. This inverter is a beast you can connect 15.6kw solar input between the 3 mppt's 26A/ mppt. With the new layout did the installer use 1 mppt for East and 1 mppt for West.. This is how it should be 7s1p North mppt1 7s1p East Mppt 2 6s1p West Mppt 3.
    Your solar installer created a lot of extra work for himself not fully understanding the connection configurations available on such an effiecient machine. 3 Mppts 6 string inputs @ 15600w of solar input.

    FYI - There is a ESPHome integration for home assistant that will allow you to pull the data from your batteries into Home Assistant as well
    Connecting it up to the DEYE is a piece of cake now adays :-)

    @alberth ,
    What I would do in the mean time, is just to run the Inverter & Batteries in Voltage mode - i.e. not Lithium, remove the comms cable, and set the inverter battery charge voltages, etc. to suit your 15S battery.
    Top prize would not only be to upgrade all 3 batteries' BMS's, but also to upgrade to 16S architecture, if the battery case can accommodate another cell.

    According to the Centurion FAQ the motors can pull up to 35A, which is why they still recommend SLA batteries.
    Lithium batteries can also have issues with temperature range that do not affect the SLA batteries as much.

    Hi Everyone
    I have just uploaded a new video using persistent entities and packages in Home Assistant, it works a lot better and doesn't loose it's settings between reboots.
    It also creates a pretty good Prepaid Meter Dashboard that you can use as well.
