OK Mike so Ploky said the inverters would keep each other up if eskom fails. Is that the case ?

Tsk tsk... under very specific conditions where one of the inverters might not have active anti-islanding conditions and the load and source is very well balanced two inverters might keep each other up. The point of all the regulations is to enforce active measures that reduce the chances to a very small set, so small that the probability becomes effectively zero. My entire argument was just to say you cannot just assume that "when the grid goes out there is nothing to tie with so nothing bad can happen", even though in 99.999% of cases (stat made up on the spot) that is likely true.

:-)

Well Mike can test that.

@JDP Might I ask where you are sourcing your Goodwe from and what the guarantee is?

I ask because my Mecer unit gave me one or two issues and I took it back to the supplied in Midrand for repairs.

Always reluctant to buy online, would rather go to an actual brick and mortar shop.

JDP, that i do not know, you have me stumped.

Mike just drop your eskom and see if the 2 inverters switch to backup mode.

They are busy upgrading the firmware to version 6. Then I should get it on Friday and Johan will install it.

Got the Goodwe today. But I am shooting a wedding in Clarens tomorrow and going to the farm on Monday to commition a big project. Se we decided to leave the Infini 3 kw running so our client can still do his tests and we wont end up in a negative until we are back. So the Goodwe will only be installed the first week of Jan 2017.

I have the protocol. But to be honest it is a bit greek at this stage. When I have it hooked up it should go better.

But the Goodwe software seems a lot better. There even is an app.
