Growatt SPF5000es firmware update issue

Featured Replies

My installation is three growatt inverters parralel mounted with 6 pylontehc US2000C pylontech batteries.

After a while I managed to have BMS communicate with the inverters as it should. It ran well for 10 days then no longer. I could not find the issue but noticed different firmwares on the inverters and decided to update them.

Two of them went well. The third did accept one but not the second update. 20 attempts both with laptops under OS windows 10 or 7 did not do the job. Worse, it no longer works at all, is not detected by the other inverters and will not detect the solar production.

IHere's the picture of what it indicates. If anyone has a clue as to what to do, thank you.

@hoohloc is the Growatt man, and I'm sure can assist with the problem, or put you in contact with someone who can.👍

Thank you for the confidence in me 😀

@Edu If you managed to update the FW of the other two inverters and only one failed the update, it means there is nothing wrong with the FW and you used the right one for your model. My advice, take the inverter back to the supplier and have them repair or exchange it. Since your installation is new, use the warranty and claim. If only you had came forward with your issue before doing the FW update. These things can't run for 10 days and then all of a sudden stop, some thing or someone must have fiddled with the settings

Thank you for your answers.

Of course I regret not having asked for advice before updating the FW. But as a rookie i'm learnong it the hard way ! 🙄

I have the same exact problem but dont have the option to return the inverter. What was the solution?

I have an SPF5000ES

This is what the SOP pdf document says with the files that I most recently put onto the inverter if the update fails:

NOTE:
Sometimes updating may fail, you may close the inverter by disconnect battery break and close
ISP tool and disconnect USB line. Confirm the inverter is not power by battery or PV or utility.
Then you connect USB line again, and open ISP tool do the same step as above, after you press
Flash button, you let the inverter power on. Wait for several minutes the update will go on.

@hoohloc I also have a spf5000es growatt. I connected pv panels on a month ago. During the day it runs on pv untill around 3pm and then suddenly just cuts off the pv for no reason. I got new firmware to update but my laptop dont want to connect to inverter. Am I doing something wrong? Gonna borrow a friends newer laptop to see if that was maybe the problem.

At the time it cuts off PV, your battery is at 100% SoC and it uses the battery to get it down to around 94% SOC. This is normal for the spf5000 model, not sure if there is any FW updates that fixes that issue. My advice, if you really, really don't want it to switch off PV and you have more funds, increase your storage. Add another battery or two
