Hi  I installed a solar system 12 x330w panels,8 kw Dye Inverter and a 5.12kw Lithium battery

Just some thoughts, rough thumbsucks, assuming your panels are all oriented to the North and that there are none of the usual killers like shading or pointing panels in different directions. And assuming you're not going to sell or export power to the grid.

Your panels could be producing around 20kWh per day on average throughout the year, probably under 15kWh in winter, and upwards of 25kWh in summer.

A lot depends on whether you can time-shift your loads to run during the day when solar production is at its peak. If your washing machine, geyser, pool pump, etc have got timers, make sure to set it in the period between around 10am-2pm to make best use of the available resource. Set the priority to the loads first, then the battery charging.

You don't say exactly which battery you have, but let's say it's a 0.5C battery, something like the Pylontech or Dyness,  you should be able to cycle it around 6000 times, in theory if you cycle it once a day you should be good for the next 16 years. May as well use that battery to store up daytime energy production and shift its consumption to the evening. Try to set that up with the time-of-use function, to keep it mainly fully charged during the daytime, but then switch to feeding your household loads in the evening. Maybe only after the evening peak, rather just for baseload after 8pm-6am. Maybe 10pm-6am depending on the size of your evening loads. That way you keep it mostly available as a backup for loadshedding during waking hours.

These should be relatively cheap to implement, but may or may not be practical in your case, should help, but might not get you all the way. Beyond that, you could benefit from an additional battery, but I wouldn't do that as a first step.

Hi @EHvdMerwe, I am pretty new to all this and only have my system installed for a few days now but ill add my 5 cents anyway and hope it adds some benefit. The main power hog for me was my 4kw geyser element. i added a timer to my geyser and  schedule it to come on and heat up at midday while the pv is at its peak. this is has so far been the biggest saving for me as my geyser uses on average around 9kwh during the 2 hours it takes to heat up during the day. the water stays hot enough so that when i switch it on again in the evening, it only takes around 20 minutes to heat back up to max temp. I suggest playing around a bit with the time of use settings and ensure that your load is set to priority. my battery drains over night(also a 5kwh li ion battery) and then charges up during the day while also supplementing my load during middle of the day when i have the geyser running (it charges back to full by the afternoon again). so far this is the way i have found to maximize my solar/battery use and minimize my eskom draw. with this setup, the last few days 90% of daily eskom draw has been from my morning geyser heating. keep in mind, that your pv will only generate what is required at any point, so if you battery is full and your load is low, you could be wasting precious power during the day that could otherwise be utilized/stored. hope this helps.

i have a smaller setup than yours in terms of panels 3.35kw but i produce twice as much as you do. I cycle my battery to 10% everyday so at night i don't use the grid. I have my geyser on aux port so that i heat up the water to 70 degrees. I normally heat it up to 60 degrees using the heat pump. My whole house is on essentials.

If you not grid feeding, then:
8kWh PV does seem low.
I have 16x400W and generated 29.9kWh today, and there was some wastage in the afternoon.
I would have generated more today, if I had a load / battery / grid feed - see the dotted line below.
The Deye will only draw Solar PV to match your consumption.

Since your battery is at 100% in the morning, then no PV will be fed in to the battery during the day.

Suggest:
1) Using some timers to control geysers, pool pumps, etc to only run 9am to 3pm (load shift) when there is Solar PV.
2) Set the Deye to discharge the battery at night to say 30% SoC/70% DoD, and charge battery only from PV in the day.
At 30% SoC, the inverter will switch to Grid for the rest of the night.
In the day, the inverter will charge the battery from PV.
70% of 5.1kWh = 3.5kWh you will save every night.
You will still have ~1kWh to use for load shedding at night, and you can adjust the threshold if there is load shedding announced on Eskomsepush.
