Do you run the active balancer permanently or can that BMS switch it on after a certain voltage?

Yes it's permanently on as it goes into  sleep mode once balancing is done.

  • Hi Odii Lbsa used to supply cells, but no longer, unfortunately.  I can help you with the bus bars...just get copper water pipe and hammer it flat, then drill out the holes. Can be done with

  • ACDC Direct and no doubt other retailers sell copper busbar in various sizes.  I bought 1.2m x 20mm x 5mm ones from them for my old 12V parallel battery bank.  They have pre-drilled and tapped M6 hole

  • The voltage will remain around 3.4 volt for very long. You have indicated the current is low. If they were like at 50% SOC and charged at 1A it will take quite a bit over 60hrs. At some stage the 3.4V

All in all I saved around R3000 on the 100 Ahr build and close to R2000 on the 50 Ahr build (excluding my time) when comparing them to middle of the range batteries. Obviously not talking Blue Nova prices here!

What do you mean by middle of the range batteries? Are most of the setups by blue nova / Hubble middle range.

If so makes me wonder what savings really would be if they used same grade of battery.. .

Nice!

Were these cells ordered through the supplier you mentioned on the other thread on Alibaba?

What inverter are you currently using?

Hi

@sunset1 not from any thread so I contacted the supplier directly. I'm using a SunSynk 8Kw.

Thanks. What supplier was it?

Was the build worth it in terms of quality and cost savings compared to similar local products?

Lithium-cells.co.za have told me that they will have stock of the 230ah cells this week if anyone is looking. I haven't bought from them before. Just thought I would mention it here.

My 2 cents.

Dont know them but

Looked at their cells. Seems no name brand.  Probab safer to buy from other website with name brand cells such as EVE and then you at least know what you getting after spending all that money.

Hi Everyone. I have been reading this forum. I have purchased 30 cells at 2 seperate occasions from LifePo4-lithium.com 230ah EVE and they deliver within 3 days anywhere. They are from Gauteng.  Everyone is scared of fraud and scams, me too. But this company you can call anytime and you speak to an Afrikaans guy. I did speak to him as I had my doubts. But this is not the 1st time I bought from them. Grade A stock and good communication and fast reliable delivery and packaging

I'm waiting for their next stock to buy more. They said in a few weeks.

Did those cells from xxxcells.co.za come with proper QR codes ?  I see they out of stock now

Yes. All eve QR codes. And stickers on with measured capacity. My capacity tests matched the cells exactly.

I bought some EVE 280Ah (LF280K) cells in 2022 for DIY build. It took around 60 days to arrive but was very happy with the packaging and quality.
I am in the process of looking at ordering some cells again.
PM me if you are interested. Maybe I can piggy back some extra cells.

Hi, from where did you buy the cells?
