Mecer SOL-I-AX-5P64 Axpert Inverter and SHOTO SDC 10-Box5 5.12kw battery settings

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a Mecer SOL-I-AX-5P64 Axpert Inverter and have the Shoto SDC 10-Box5 5.12kw lithium battery. I am looking for some guidance on the settings on the inverter side. I have attached the screenshot of the Battery manual, and the inverter plate. Some I think are correct. Currently I am using it for pure backup (no panels). I also have it connected to a Raspberry PI and using Solar Assistant software. I know 12 and 13 are not taking into consideration when set to UEI on 01 setting.

Currently set to the below settings, but I assume something is too low on the charge side as the inverter thinks the battery is fully charged, but the Solar Assistant says 79% charged, All the lights on the battery show all green for charged, so there is definitely a disconnect somewhere.

Thank you very much.

Mecer Inverter settings

01 = UEI (Utility first the Battery)

02 Max Charge Current = (30A)

05 Battery Type = (USE)

--12 Setting Voltage point back to Utility (SBU priority) = (48v)

--13 Voltage point back to battery mode when using SBU in 01 = (51v)

26 Bulk Charging Voltage = (54v)

27 Floating Charging Voltage = (54V)

29 Low DC Cut Off Voltage = (47V)

Battery Manual

DOC = 80%

Charge Voltage = 54v - 56.4v

Discharge Voltage = 45v - 48v

Nominal Voltage = 51.2v

Charge Discharge Current = 50A

Hi,

The settings are quite conservative, charging up to 90%, I have also set the cut off at 30% but as it is just battery backup, it does not use too much during loadshedding periods. It was the 16 cell that was confusing the settings for me.

This is the cable

Hi,

I have the same setup. Did these battery settings above resolve your SOC % discrepancy between SA and the battery? Are you able to reach 100% SOC?

I'm encountering a phenomenon where the grid charges the battery to only 96% SOC as indicated on SA. Following this, the battery immediately discharges to reach the float charge voltage of 54v. Several hours later, the SOC percentage begins to decrease gradually and continues to fall over the course of several days.

Goeie dag, we have solar and batteries on this inverter. But the inverter keeps on cutting out the solar at about 10am on a sunny day, and then run the house usage from the batteries. Then tonight when the sun is down, it charges the batteries from eskom.

I have been trying to find and download the manual with no success - i need a setting that will use solar first for usage as well as keeping the batteries charged during the day. I changed setting 01 to Sbu, and 16 to OSO, but still solar is not used??

Please help?

Hi Can someone please assist?  I have a Axpert Inverter with 2x Shoto HP10 Box 5 kw batteries.  Is it possible to connect the Battery and Inverter BMS Communications?

I have a RJ45 Cable RS485 Pins 1A & 2B to Voltronic 3B & 5A. I've tried the Pylontech, LiB and LiC settings on the inverter, does not work?

Where do we get Shoto Support in South Africa?

Any advice will be appreciated.

Pylontech, LiB and LiC settings on the inverter,

Shoto seems to be its own protocol; I believe you need the setting SH for 05 battery type.

You may need to update your display firmware to get this option, it wasn't present in the oldest display firmwares.

Edit: I've just checked Axpert King display firmware version 02.81, which is fairly recent, and SH is the only entry in the table that is still skipped. So it seems it's the last one to be implemented, and may not be implemented yet, for your inverter model.

Most of the Shoto batteries use an older version of the seplos BMS which doesn't work with voltronic because it only communicates via the CAN port even though everything seems to suggest it will work over RS485. The only solution I know of so far is Solar Assistant.
