Pylontech is one of the easier ones to add - their intra-battery cables are snap-on and the comms cables are standard ethernet cables. You should be able to add it yourself if you are so inclined

not to mention that you do not need copper busbar. easy installation, safe and neat

I bought 2 x UP5000 4.8kWh batteries for R 26,000 each.

Solar Solutions.
Good prices for genuine items, but not a professional setup.  Funny collections, backyard style.

bought mine for R22k vat inclusive at inverterwarehouse

Hi,

Can I please have some guidance as to what the going rate will be to install an additional Pylontech battery?

Thanks

This depends on which Pylontech battery you want to add.

Communica in Midrans seems to have stock

I prefer a place where I can walk in, with cash, and then walk out with my stuff. I'm old school and do not want to take chances with online stores as there are so many scammers out there. I would rather pay that extra grand and get my stuff immediately than try and save few hundreds, only to be scammed out of thousands

Inverterware house is my go to place, but they are out of stock

I have also bought from the solar shop

https://www.solar-shop.co.za/pylontech/536-pylontech-up5000-48kwh-li-ion-solar-battery-48v.html

and they seem to have stock too but the prices are now ridiculously high. I guess they will not go down any time soon

Just wanted to add my 2c on the installation of US3000C's. I bought an extra one last year and it arrived a week before the the earliest time someone was available to install it. Turns out after some quick consultation with my supplier at the time it was a 10min job and ended up doing it myself off a Youtube video. If need be I can find it, think i have it bookmarked for the future. Been running great. Actually have a few questions on future expansion but ill put those in another separate post.

BUT, beware that if you are adding it to US2000/3000 A/B then you will need to upgrade the firmware of the older batteries so they can talk to each other.

What old batteries are you using?
