Posted March 25, 20231 yr Hi everyone on this great forum I have been researching solar quite a bit before I decided to create this post A friend recently purchased two Sunsynk 5kw inverters and two Sunsynk lfp wall mount batteries with the idea of installing both at home as a possible failsafe dual system. When the installation occurred he was informed that two inverters and to batteries were way too much for his home and frankly a waste of money hence subsequently he had informed me that I could purchase the Inverter and Battery for what he paid for it and in doing so I would also be assisting him with a Win-Win situation at the end of the day. There is obviously no solar panels or accessories and sundries to do a complete solar installation as he did and hence I have been overly cautious for committing to his kind gesture however still being mindful by not insulting his kindness at the same time. It seems that the price is really a bargain for lack of a better term compared to current prices of the same stock however I am weary about several concerns I have although the purchase of the items were made at a respectable solar supplier with all the necessary documents and invoices as well as the items still being sealed in their original unopened state. The questions I have are based on saving myself a substantial sum of money if I were to have a certified installer supply the required necessary accessories and sundries required to complete a professional installation In Pretoria. Will an installer be prepared to do a professional installation without myself having purchased the Inverter and Battery from him? Will all warrantees still be honoured as if I was purchasing the equipment from the installer himself if I have paid him for a professional installation and commissioning? Am I being cheeky or downright wishful to expect a professional installation to occur if I did not purchase the Inverter and Battery from the installer or are there reputable installers out there who would understand and respect my situation without thinking I am taking advantage of them as I am not trying to skimp and be penny wise pound foolish or will my situation be frowned upon and not touched with the proverbial 10 foot pole? I am obviously prepared to pay for the installation as ANYBODY else would do. Your comments would be highly appreciated and if there are any reputable installers that would be prepared to assist me then please let me know too. Many Thanks
March 25, 20231 yr There are installers from that area on this forum, that will answer. But my system (inverter and battery only to start) was purchased from the Power-Forum Store. and the installer (in PE) had no issues to quote/supply/install the rest. My installer assisted with registering the extended warranty.

But be aware, they do make a margin on product, not only installation, and quite rightly so. So they will invariably up the installation cost to make up for loss of margin on product. Check your quotes that the installation cost is still fair and reasonable in relation to installation cost of full turnkey project. Also make sure that the inverter and battery is appropriately registered for your residence and not the original owner, regading warranty / insurance aspects. Thanks Guys it will all depend how willing these guys will be to assist as I can imagine the demand for solar is increasing exponentially as of late. If it is fair then please suggest a list of installers that I could contact locally If all else fails with my idea of helping my friend out and myself at the same time then I would still be interested to have a complete solar system installed by a reputable professional installer locally provided I can afford it hence any leads will be highly appreciated
March 25, 20231 yr Sunsynk warranty does not require the installer to supply everything, you will still be able to register your equipment whether the installer supplied the equipment or not. I'm based in Pretoria if you need an installer you can hit my inbox.
