Hi Guys,

I made a website that allows South Africans to check their Load Shedding Schedule for their area Quick! Without the use of a mobile app and also possible via your desktop!
As I am developing the site further and further, I would love to get some feedback, and what you would like to see on the website regarding new functions.

I am already adding a Map to the fucntion list end of next week!

Okay you wanted feedback.

There are a multitude of loadshedding checking apps, sites etc, so if you want people to favour yours, it has to be above the rest.

Currently the colours dont work, and the site looks very cluttered and poorly laid out.

You can also scroll and scroll down, a front page of a website should be a single view page, the moment you have to scroll, you especially on mobile devices get lost and simply just hit the back button.

Websites are old fashioned and mobile is the here and now. If you cant make your website act like a mobile app then you already loose half the audience, add all the other flaws and there goes the entire audience.

Im with McGuyver here, what is your aim?

If the colours dont work, which colour would work in your opinion? Why is it cluttered and poorly laid out exactly, how to improve this?

This is made, because you can check it during work, on your desktop/laptop computer instead of grabbing your phone, so eventhough its mobile accesible, its mainly focussed on desktop users,

Well I like the website and the fact that i can use it on my desktop. I personally dont like reaching for my mobile when i am on my pc. This works for me. I just struggled to figure out where i needed to type my Surburb. Eventually i realised that it is on the bottom. Its not exactly standing out as a call to action

It's a bit busy and as a result confusing. Can I suggest you hide the unnecessary text/content behind menu options and keep your service to a clean interface?

Here's my schedule for today. It's not presented as one set of data, and I care much more about times than stages. 

There is actually one outage from 4:00 to 6:30, and I'm intrigued by the half hour outage you say is coming.

I'm saying it should be

04:00 - 06:30 (first two slots are actually one and the same)
12:00 - 14:30
20:00 - 22:30 (there is no 16:00 to 16:30 slot)

This tells me clearly when the power goes out and when it comes back on.

Like this, one search box for your suburb, and the rest of the text and links can be reached via menu items, if you want to go there.

I think the stage is irrelevant and most people just want to know the time slots in the day when the power is off.

I was also thinking of a Widget that other South African Websites can add to their side bar to add Real time Load Shedding Schedules / search for one.

I checked out the website and understand why some were referring to the colours. I would advise to give the end users an option. When initially visiting the site rather have lighter colours present and have a toggle for the users to switch to dark mode for those who prefers darker colours. A lighter mode is usually more appealing to most users unless they have visual problems. The widget is a great idea as well.
