January 9, 20251 yr I want to get a system with a big amount of storage in HV batteries, I found the following brands that seem quite decent, which would you recommend? Deye, Fox, Pylontech, Dyness, Lumo and Hina

January 9, 20251 yr What application are you looking to deploy this plant in? Commercial? Residential? What is your requirement?

I'm looking to install these at a commercial site, an office building, we run a butchery and want to use the system for our fridges and appliances in the back. Inverter wise, I was looking at Huawei, Deye and Sunsynk. Maybe Fox aswell
January 10, 20251 yr Hi @Tshegofatso, You need to provide the forum with a bit more info. Most important is your peak power usage (in kW), and then the daily consumption (in kWh), else you can install anything, but your may not be satisfied with the result. Too small capacity inverter...too small rating of battery.... too much PV... not even talking about wiring sizing etc. If you don't know these values, you can look at the rating of each item that is connected to the grid. Lights, A/C, butchery equipment, each and every thing that is to be used together under normal conditions. Your daily consumption can be calculated from your Utility Bill, or read your meter/pre-paid over a weeks worth to get the daily average. Hope this helps.

I definitely concur with @Sidewinder regarding supplying enough information. Also be mindful of how much space you may have and will possibly need for Solar Panels and this may include utilising Carports (as shown). Being a especially given that you mention a Butchery, are you going to have just a Cold Room or you'll also have a Blast freezer and the Blast Freezer requires quite a heavy power load. Which means you'll need to be mindful of the need to have a generator as redundancy during winter months or rainy season. So kindly give the Forumites more info.

Inverter wise, I was looking at Huawei, Deye and Sunsynk. Maybe Fox aswell I would look to add a Transformer based Inverter for this application. I have worked in the C&I market & have seen on one particular site with a very large walk in Cold room that compressor generate high surge cold start currents. The Gate & Drive Sunsynks & Deyes have their place in the market & that's usually when there is no heavy inductive loads, however, when you start playing with factory or industrial equipment like compressors & motors the application needs to be specified accordingly. Otherwise you run the risk of your solution not working. I would recommend equipment like the ATESS HPS range or Megarevo MPS range depending on your power requirement. They are High Voltage machines & are built for industrial applications with in built isolation transformers. However, I would first start with a power investigation with a Logger or meter to find out your power peaks & requirements followed by matching the inverter output current to at the very least to match your Grid input breaker. These projects often cost a lot of money, so due diligence must be followed with planning, selection of equipment, installation execution as well as plant management (operations & maintenance). January 16, 20251 yr I was looking at Felicity Solar batteries for a High Voltage solution Saw them at the Solar Expo in Cape Town last year They seem quite popular overseas
