Mmm. Those appear to me to be starting batteries: CCA = Cold Crank Amps, for example. Great for starting a 4x4, not so good for energy storage.

The datasheet has almost nothing of value for solar applications.

I'd call your battery 102 Ah (the 20h rate capacity) x 2 strings = 204 Ah. Maximum charge current should be about 0.15C, so 204 x 0.15 = 30.6 A. So reduce the maximum charge current and maximum utility charge current to 30 A. 25 A would be more cautious, but unfortunately isn't an option.

Leave the charging voltages at the defaults and hope for the best. If you use patched firmware (73.00e or 72.70c), then you will at least avoid undercharging the battery (very bad for longevity) due to the premature float bugs in factory firmware.

You cant use an equalising charge with these (they are sealed), so the whole reason for going to a different firmware with equalisation was just wrong.

OK, Firmware Flashed to 73.00e reduced the maximum charge current and maximum utility charge current to 30 A.

Bulk Charging Voltage (C.V. voltage) remains at 56.4v

Float Charging Voltage remains at 54v

You might want to increase that a little in winter, to say 56.8 V. Leave it as is for summer.

That could go as high as 55.2 V in winter, but it's nowhere near as important as the setting above. [ Edit: leave as-is for summer, or as long as the temperature is often above 25°C. ]

That one's largely a preference. Adjust it up if you want more utility use and keeping your battery SOC higher, adjust lower if you want to reduce utility use. This one and the next one depend on your battery internal resistance, which will vary with time. Revisit in a year or two.

That seems OK, but again there is some preference factor. You might want 49 or 50 V to keep your battery SOC higher (for longer life, but getting less "value" from the battery).

I'd increase that to 46.0 V (11.5 V per nominal 12 V module). Adjust up or down if you get nuisance cut-off when the battery seems healthy, or if you're worried that the battery is getting too low in SOC before the inverter-charger cuts off.

I have purchased 3 more Solar Panels to add to my existing array of 9  255W panels, sadly I was unable to purchase 255W but 265W but (I am told) will denominate to 255W, the full compliment will add up to 3060W (probably never reach that figure) I will install after the silly season as relatives are starting to arrive.

I have since upgraded to another make 8.8kw Inverter now Ali however, @Coulomb is the the man that could assist, he his an absolute genius when it comes to Axpert/Mecer Voltronic Inverters and error codes (your case error code 90), perhaps your firmware needs changing. @Ali jutt Please specify what type of batteries you are using and SOC and float charge settings as well. This will determine the correct firmware @Coulombwill suggest which type of firmware you would require.

Fault code 90 is about catching clone manufacturers who illegally copy Voltronic Power proprietary firmware.

Is it possible that the inverters you are dealing with are clones?

Fault code 81 is "Host loss" (I think that means that in a paralleled inverter situation, a slave no longer is in contact with the master, or something similar). NE means that it's neither a master or a slave, it's a NEw inverter, whose masterhood is yet to be determined.

If you have paralleled machines (you didn't say), then you have some sort of problem with paralleling boards or cables, or possibly interference to the CAN signals, say from a noisy solar charger.

If you only have a single machine, then somehow you haven't got your AC output mode setting (setting 28 on many models) set to SIG (single machine). See FAQ #3 on how to change this setting, or you might be able to change it with your monitoring software.

Hi Coulomb, yes I was given 2 axperts to repair, one of them repaired, the other has much more damage, so i assume repair the 2nd unit then connect them in parallel to reset the menu to single mode,  nothing can be done with control board in this error state , i cant get laptop to sync with repaired unit using control board with error message(swopped control boards).

Please also specify your existing main (U1) firmware version. You should be able to display the firmware version even with this fault code showing. Just keep pressing up or down keys until you get to a screen with U1 showing. Report the two numbers near the "U1".

The information in the above post refers to older 5 kVA models, but the basics are the same with any model.

Please see the last 2 posts on this thread. We really need that U1 firmware version to help you. Also a photo of the sticker on the side would help to determine if it's a clone or not. F90 is supposed to indicate that this is a clone running stolen firmware.

Parallel setting of your inverter is enabled, disable it and your 81 error will go away.
