August 25, 2025Aug 25 Good day,I purchased 6x Jinko Solar Panel Tiger JKM585N-72HL4-BDV Bifacial panels that I want to fit in landscape on a pitched tile roof. What are recommended options to mount them?I'm looking at KD solar, but they seem quite pricy compared to others. Is it worth paying the extra price? They also have the adjustable roof hook, which seems like it might make the installation easier?Attached is my shopping list from Livestainable. Is this sufficient? Any comments or feedback will be apreciated.Thank you. Edited August 25, 2025Aug 25 by DieLem
August 25, 2025Aug 25 @DieLem ,It gonna depend on how you are planning to install all 6 your panels. If all 6 in one row, you are shorting inter rail connectors (2 off) & 10 middle clamps +4 End rail capsIf 2 x 3 installation, then you need 8 end clamps & 8 middle clamps + 8 End rail caps
August 25, 2025Aug 25 Author Thanks @Sidewinder sorry, it will be a 2 * 3 installation, I realised I was missing 4 mid clamps after posting. Is the aluminium mounting systems preferred over galvanised?
August 25, 2025Aug 25 We use lumasol. Tried and tested multiple times with good service and quality products. They'll get you everything you need.

August 26, 2025Aug 26 Your list seems okay, just short the mid clamps as mentioned.I always use renusol mounting hardware, and is works out to almost R1000 per panel mounted.
August 26, 2025Aug 26 Author Thanks for the feedback everyone, @WannabeSolarSparky SolarWaySuppliers seem to be a good option. They'll cost me about R1700 less and I'm certain the roof hooks they have will be correct for my install. Due to the space I have I have to do landscape, which menas the rails will be running down the roof from the top to the gutter. This is the updated list from SolarWaySuppliers, I added extra roof hooks, so that I have 4 per rail.I've read a bit about the end rail caps, a lot of people say they fall off after a few months. Sounds like they might just block up the gutters?
August 26, 2025Aug 26 I have used SolarwaySuppliers and KD Solar. The last one was with KD 2 years ago. They were very competitive and I bought direct from them.No harm in getting a direct quote: <[email protected]>..I have no affiliation with either of these companies, I have merely been a customer.
August 27, 2025Aug 27 @DieLem ,Hope I got this right....2 x 3 portrait mode mounted vertically. So your rail length is going to be ( All in mm): 50 (start piece)+20 (end clamp)+2278 (pv1 height)+ 20 (middleclamp)+ 2278 (pv2 height) + 20 (middle clamp) + 2278 (pv3 height) + 20mm (end Clamp + 50 (end piece)= 7014 mm !!So you are going to be very short on rails and roof hooks.PS, secure the end caps with a bit of silicon, else dust/grime/spiderwebs etc will happen.Maybe also something to take into consideration: Rail come in 2 sizes: 41 x 35 and 50 x 47.If you are in a windy/hot area, go for the bigger size, as it raises the PV by 10mm from the roof. 10% better airflow. Lower temps. Also, when fixing the rail to the roof hook, move it as high as possible (should be adjustable) to gain another 10mm. Edited August 27, 2025Aug 27 by Sidewinder

September 8, 2025Sep 8 Author Thanks everyone, I wen twith SolarWaySuppliers. They some cheaper and of the same qaulity as others.I emailed KD and got better prices than at livestainable, but SolarWaySuppliers was still cheaper. KD sells every screw and bolt separately, but at least they add them to the quote when you ask for brackets and clamps. Now I just need the time to get on the roof and start installing.@Sidewinder it will be mounted horizontally. So will need about half of the rail length. Thanks for the tip, I'll put them on as high as possible. I'm in Centurion, so it's not that hot and only windy during two months of the year.
