Battery Terminal Cover

Featured Replies

how did you cover the battery terminals? My batteries are in the open and I am sure it is illegal to have uncovered live battery terminals. The only place I found selling them is wantitall but I am not paying over R500 for 2 🤬.

Correct.

Everything DC, what I was asked over and over - can little kids fingers touch when no adult is around ... or some friends who are trying to be funny?

That is why all DC must be "out of sigh, out of mind and safe if it comes to mind" kinda thing.

What is the standard practice used to insulate battery terminals here on the forum?

It looks as though the correct size battery terminal covers are hard to come by, so I was thinking of using electrical putty but its really messy stuff.

Any suggestions?

I found these covers at Mantech in JHB but they won't suit my application:

I put my batteries in a box with a lid that closes.

Good call, just thinking about all the batteries that you see on the forum that aren't in battery boxes.

I guess you could have a plan with PVC fittings but it wouldn't be a very elegant solution
