I did not know that I need to connect comms cables as I thought they are connected inside since it is a

All in one unit.

I see many openings, where to where must which cable connect?

Thank you for that, might solve the problem

This video does not show comms cables present

What is setting 30, 32 and 33 on the inverter set to?

And is the comms cable connected from the inverter side to the BMS?

So I inserted the comms cable into the front and back ports and immediately my BMS changed to Pac and I was able to change my float and Boost charging Voltage down to 56.8. Only problem now is I cannot change setting 7, battery charging current is now stuck on 5. I hope this resolves the Over voltage issue. Will update if not.

That is really interesting.

I have my parameter 32 set as SLA. I hadn't tried connecting the BMS to the inverter externally, as I would have throught it would have been wired internally. Weirdly, the inverter is showing the correct SoC in the SLA setting, as the values in the BMS and inverter match up fine. Par 33 is set to WOW, which is the SNRE inverter comms.

Update on my Modbus comms. I still cannot get it to connect through the RS485 port to USB (using an adapter). Have switched the pins 7 (D+) and 8 (D-) around just incase, but still nothing. I am using Baud 9600, 8 data bits, no parity, and 1 stop bit. I have tried slave 1 and 2, and messed around with all the different baud rates available.

Will try again a bit later, but properly banging my head here. Wondering how the SA manages to communicate :/

I changed mine to SLA and WOw and can now change everything. But now I can’t see the battery percentage. The APP shows 78% and it was 100%. Anyone know the corrected settings for 32 and 33.

Edit: battery quickly went to 100 Soc at 56 Volts where it seems to settle. Looks like this might be the correct settings. Will update if error returns.

AFAIK when using SLA settings with lithium connected you will always get this difference as lithium is at 100% at a lower voltage. See if you don't have a AGM setting to use instead of SLA.

So I thought I would do a quick update on my progress with getting information from my 8kw OmniVolt.

Happy to report that I have everything I need! All up and running when I workout what addresses were... What pain. But I have uploaded a Modbus reference document for all the addresses I used and what they mean, as well as their unit and scale factor... This should be helpful if anyone needs to get their inverter info into HA ).

If you find any errors, let me know and I will update it! I am happy to share my config yaml if anyone needs it, as well as my dashboard yaml.

Ignore the fault... The inverter still seems to be acting weird with the SoC of the battery. I currently have it connected through 485, and WOW.

I have attached some screenshots of my dashboard showing everything working ). Still lots to mess around with, but this is a good start!

Hi All

Just a heads up: I just ordered the 10kW unit for R16999 from Builders, so stock seems to be available again.

I'm putting up a 8*4m cabin with a solar roof in our farm where a glamping tent stood - this will be the first purchase on that journey)

Ian

Received it yesterday, damn heavy) Confirm it's just the 10kWh battery.

Luckily we have a little electric loader I imported from China - made offloading and moving it easier.

Box was in perfect nick, and the unit has 52 % SOC.

I'll add it to the house storage until the cabin is done.

I solved Error 64 by dropping Boost charge voltage to 56 and float charge voltage to 55.6. Also max charge current is set to 30. Amp.

Hi @Henrdrik, if you dont mind please share all the settings you have input on the Inverter. Am getting an Error 30 and Error 64 warning daily. I want to input all the exact settings you are using.

This is how I got my 8Kw Inverter to work flawlessly for the last two weeks.

I have two solar strings facing east and west, 1.6 kw each.

First switch off the Ac, than the PV and than the battery and lastly the inverter.

Plug is comms between the inverter and battery.

Let it sit for 10 minutes for capacitors to discharge.

Switch on only the battery and inverter.

Press settings and change as follows:

1.Ac Ouput. Mine is set to SOL but shouldn’t make a difference.

3. UPS

4. 46V

5. 54.8

6. SNU

7. 40A

8. USER

9. 56.8V Can go down to 56 if Error 64 persists.

11. 56.0 OR 55.6

Fully charge battery and discharge battery to 15%. Optional but some say the inverter learns the battery capacity.

Thanks for this. Will be installing the 5kw unit this week. Still haven't opened my box. Does the unit allow for extra batteries to be connected to it?

Thank you, will plug them in tonight and see how it goes

Received my 10kwh battery yesterday. It is indeed big! I was surprised to find all the connections are underneath the battery, if I mount it on the floor as planned! That obviously provides a logistical headache, so I decided to open it up to see if there was any reason I couldn't just have it sit with the "top" of the battery on the floor. So if anyone is interested, here are some pictures of it. Also can confirm it is a Pace BMS. I was silly and didn't get the actual model number of the BMS. Spec sheet says it's 100A though. The 200Ah is made up of two 100Ah cells in parallel. Seems they've all been tested with most having values around 108Ah. Looks very nicely made though, even if it's not particularly compact.

For size comparison, it's standing next to my 14kwh Magneto battery... which is admittedly heavier!

I added my 5kw unit to Solar Assistant thanks to the SRNE discovery, the unit also says BMS protocol is WOW. Not sure if that is just default and must be changed, but changes to unit such as bulk and float etc are easy enough to change from Solar Assistant. Let me know if I can test something.

@RoelofDeJager I'm not seeing the WOW option in Solar Assist, connected via a printer cable. It shows me WS Technicals. Getting error 64 so would like to change the battery settings. I must be doing something one, the firmware matches yours.
