What is setting 30, 32 and 33 on the inverter set to? And is the comms cable connected from the inverter side to the BMS?

The PAC protocol is supposed to be for the PaceBMS, which the GIi appears to have. If you go to the Battery BMS panel ( left screen with 4 white buttons to the r/h of BMS display ) , is there a option under "Para Settings" > Comms where you can confirm/check that it is the same as what is set in the inverter?

Sounds more like the electrician made a outside problem, a inside problem for whomever does work on the DB inside the house in the future. I guess if it is a choice between no hot water and getting the municipality to rectify the issue, the path of least resistance triumphs, not unlike Ohms law. 😄

Original CoJ notice Seems like they added PV households in the mix now to more accurately monitor imports and exports.

Thanks. Helpful to have this sort of feedback for different battery brands. One often seem to fly solo when straying off the mainstream oft repeated recommendations for "good" brands. Pylontech comes to mind, and there have been many discussions around whether they are really as good as everyone touted them back in the day. As a personal general rule, I always just assume I would be on my own for any project and any supplier support would be a bonus, and if I have enough information to do task A or B without supplier support ( ala alternative resources and information ), then I go with it :) This is where this type of post becomes helpful. @Henry2501 do you perhaps know what BMS the must has? It looks a lot like a PaceBMS.

So if I am understanding the scenario correctly. 1)V-0-V generator connected to power main building DB. 2).CoC was issued to sanction this installation. 3)Supply neutral ( before elcb/rcd main trip switch ) burned due to overload/some fault 4) Insurance claim denied based solely on points 1 and 2 Was the generator actually involved as a root cause? How would a end user even know that the person that issued the CoC a. Signed off on something illegal b. Is not a real qualified electrician that issued a fraudulent CoC. If the user was not given a legit certificate ( think it's the yellow government letterhead form ) , then point b. sounds plausible, but if the user was given the correct paperwork, you'd be none the wiser. I assume it's possible that the actual CoC forms could be obtained illegally, but again, how would the end user know.

That is quite a lot of OVP's Just check what the battery voltage shows on the SVOLT's display when just the inverter is charging the battery ( temporarily isolate the external SCC ) Compare that to what your inverter thinks the voltage it is putting in is. I've seen the axperts over read by as much as ~1.5v causing the OVP's to be triggered on the battery BMS especially during float.

Not necessary when fitting panels in series, in series the volts keep adding up the more panels you add, the amp output will stay the same. There are some inverters that have a max amp input as well, but unless you are fitting the big > 550w panels it shouldn't be an issue, but it wouldn't hurt to arm and cross check with your inverter specs.

Howdy, What you could also do is perhaps run a known load like a 2kw kettle, switch off everything else, and then see what the meter shows. If it doesn't show "real time" consumption, then you would have to run a big load like a heater only for a whole hour and see if that lines up with what the meter consumed unit wise.

On the point of the city has the obligation to provide people with water as per the constitution. We the average citizens interpret that as meaning there is a right to free water via the 6kl allocation that is now going away. Looking at social media commentary around the allocation being removed, it's not a stretch that the majority of people are in agreement. But it turns out that they are not in contravention. The legal interpretation is in the wording access to water. As long as there is a supply line to your dwelling capable of receiving water it's within the framework of the constitution apparently. This is how they are allowed to cut off water supply. They have technically not removed access to water, it's still sitting on the other side of the valve. I only recently learned of this technicality as I always wondered how they could cut people off from water completely.
