Let us know the SoC and what was in the box (according to builders there should have been a number of installation items). Also, are you able to share the specs on the inverter (I bought the 8kw, but interested about the others too)? Want to start looking at what panels I can use with this.

Yea I think it would be worthwhile to get the needed info on here, so that the more experienced, can give them their blessing or curse. The special is still on, and although the products seem to come and go, so far two has received their inverters, so it's worth buying them if they make sense otherwise.

So I am the brother 😅

They confirmed my order will arrive in Durban (Westville) on the 23rd.

Initial SoC is 61%. I wanted to connect AC to charge up but it seems config is needed first as the battery type is set as GEL and AC charging at 80A default.
There is no specs anywhere in the manual or sticker on the unit. (unless I'm blind and cant see the sticker)

In the box I received:

Wi-Fi data logger dongle that connects to SmartESS app.

USB to RS485 cable

Some normal electrical wire (maybe 10M)

Some other electrical cable (looks like it has got battery terminal connectors?)

Semi Assembled Combiner Breaker box.

Generic "Manual" for all models.

Then some other 2 pair twisted cable possible for Comms I assume.

Photos Attached. Let me know if I can provide anything more.

This manual references the exact same parameters and defaults:

Morning all, I got my 15kW inverter Yesterday. The box is huge, indicates that it's 127kg. I haven't had time to look at it yet, but once I have time (hopefully this afternoon) I will take a bunch of photos and put them up on a album. Something I've noted is that mine says explicitly that it does not support parrelleling, but will take lots of photos of the box so we can see. The box is also in a bad state, but with this weight I can't say I don't expect it.

My box also looked like it came out of a war but luckily no damage whatsoever to unit itself (75KG listed).
In in my bag that contained the manual there was an additional manual for paralleling that seems fairly useless in terms of info.

In the actual manual I think it states only the 3KW unit cannot do parallelling. But if your unit also has the dip switches for addressing surely it must support it.

I want to start and compile a list for all parameters and get some AI input for best values etc. I think we all need to discuss and share values as everything is just on generic defaults. I only changed my battery type from GEL to L16 for now. Next up getting it charged via AC.

Also check if yours has the 6 Month Warranty label stuck on the front below battery BMS screen?

I also took delivery of my 8kw unit yesterday 🎉

And the box did indeed look like they had dragged it out of a war...

I powered mine on to test it, and it started up great thankfully! Ran through the menu with my brother (JaseZA) and he thinks its a Voltronic unit due to the menu being the same 😅

Will look at getting mine mounted in the coming weeks... Flipping heavy @122kgs.

I did not have a warranty sticker on my unit at all 😶

The box damage seems to be dependant on the kW of the unit.... the more kW... the more damage 🤣 (ok fine, the more kW... the heavier, so I guess the more dragging and the less carrying problem)

Yes, I'll definitely share what I find, but I'm completely new to inverters, have looked at many videos, but never bought one. So I won't add value except comparing notes.

Will check once I've managed to get mine laid down and open. It is currently standing on its side in my hallway where they delivered it.

Yea, it makes sense that it has this feature, it is usually something that is not included on 3kW units because they are so small (don't know the technical reason). But from 5kW up, they usually have it. But it may be a case of "marketing" vs. "engineering" problem.

Honestly, I think these "generic" inverters are build from various off the shelf parts, so it could be a rebranded unit or something that was built from various piece of other China models. So maybe they use the same firmware/screen as Voltronic, or maybe it is a rebranded Voltronic. Either way... we are all going to find out soon, when we dive in...

I might be wrong here, but those 4 x dip switch is (normally) to set the address of the battery portion. But may also address the Bus Address of the Inverter. Most modern Inverters you have to set the address (for Master & Slave) up via the UI or software when one wants to parallel them.

The red & black twisted wire with green terminals is the current sharing cable. If they include them, then I would have expected them to also provide the other communication cable (should have a DB-9 - old school serial) at the end. Only to worry about that if you ever planning to parallel 2 of these units. Note: you can only parallel units of the same capacity, i.e. a 5kW with a 5kW. + the Firmware needs to be the same version - (Should be, if you ordered 2 units together - as I don't foresee one would be able to get another unit like this at the same price and availability)

Ok so looks like this is the case, the box on the outside says "None" but inside there is a dedicated instructions pamphlet showing how to connect up to 6 units in parellel.

I've had time to open the box and take a bunch of photos. I put them all in an Google Photos album you can view here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/9ztPDuSfYZrBEz7G8

I've scanned the two manuals so that it's easier to read, see attached:

Added user manuals.

@Bernard du Toit Hi, can you give an update on the Invertor, and how true is the 1 star review on builders website regarding discharging of the battery.(it is claimed the battery discharges even though mains is connected, the power gets drawn from the battery rather from the mains)

I am also looking at buying this unit. Power4Less Omnivolt G2 Hybrid Inverter: 8.0 kW, with bayyer. Can someone please advise if it has two MPPT

trackers for Solar Panels, and if not what is the Maximun Solar Amps that it can take. I have west and East facing panels that must be connected on seperate

strings or in parallel but the Chort Circuit Current will be 27 Amps. I know most inverters have a 18Amp Limit?

Yes, the 8kw has two MPPTs. They don't specify max current anywhere I have seen but max power is 5500W per MPPT.

Has anybody connected their units yet?

Im still playing and monitoring the battery before mounting or installing. I don't have full confidence yet. I have set it at 5A AC charge (due to crappy cable I'm using) and let it cycle without load (just inverter draw). It does seem that it loses SOC fairly quick with no load. BMS shows 1A draw from inverter with no load so basically 50-60Wh, but I have managed to somehow give it 8300Wh in total from AC but now im not sure what the exact time frame was for this charging because I'm dumb. So I'm going to have to do it again from Scratch.

Also if somebody believes they have the sweet spot for float and bulk please share.

Edit: I just found these handy graphs on the web version of SmartESS (www.dessmonitor.com)

I dont have a Power4Less inverter but have a Sunsynk.

While idling, the inverter uses about 60watts per hour. Much the same you are seeing.

I installed my setup yesterday, everything is working fine, ran on batteries only from 10 pm and had 60% left in the morning.

The user manual is a joke. Pareameters are given for a 24 Volt battery.

Instructions of interface and image in book completely different.

many functions not in the book included

See attached

no cant get images attached

Everything is working fine, except an Error 64 that stops solar from working, does anyone know a solution.

I cant change boost or float voltage which is 57.6 and I think the high voltage causes the error. I changed battery type to gel to see if it will prevent the error.

Error usually clears itself

I have read through the string of information. This is definitely not a GEL battery and should changed to Lithium. The ADD is still available until the end of March. A couple of months ago I purchased the 3kw battery but did not read properly that it is for 25 volt application that would not work for me. After a bit of a battel BW took it back and I got my money back.

I now want to purchase the 10kw battery at R17 000 which I think is a bargain. What is you view?
