I can confirm that my unit is not hot to touch in these events, feels very normal.

Well they do, but to the point of where it should of shut down and still going in my case if the charts are to be believed.

It does, but again, the heat isn't the real problem. It's a false positive... so it can derate as much as it want, it still thinks its running too hot.

So they have started today,  redid two DBs and started stripping trunking and cables of the Solar install.

DC combiner to find a new home somewhere near the bottom and then a lot of new trunking to be done.

Mmmm remember DC and AC should not run in the same trunking. Should do some planning for the trunking below the MPII.

Yeap, might take it up left and down in the middle again. I have also seen others take the DC behind the trunking. Not sure about regulations when they actually just cross and don't run further in the same trunking, this is apparently also done..

Making some progress, flow seems much better. Ironman should be happy about the AC side of things :)

@PaBz0r - I'm keen to know more about what you used for what looks to be the bus bar just above the fused disconnect?  Perhaps a closer photo as well if you don't mind?

I still need to do that on my system.

It is indeed a DC Combiner, it has copper busbars with cone type isolated supports, that screw into the box and bars.  I will have to open it up to get you a clearer picture.

TTT had a pic of his in this thread, last picture of the first post https://powerforum.co.za/topic/2946-victron-grid-tied-setup-from-scratch/ . Basically a more compact version of this.

I have been live now for a year and according to the data generated 4541kW (4.5 MW sounds better) . My consumption has gone down since the geyser was placed on a timer with the installation, but as you can see the grid usage percentage is low, which was part of the goal, but of course  beating loadshedding was the priority
