September 19, 20196 yr Hi guys Advice needed. I am moving my Axpert 5kva/4kw inverted to run my pool pump only. It has 4 x 100a battery backup and I would like to add solar panels so it runs basically off grid during day time. The manual indicates 145vdc for the pv input The pool pump is a 750w unit. I am looking at the artsolar 300 w panels with these specs Typical Output (Watt): 300W + 3% Typical Voltage (Vmp): 32.6V Typical Amperage (Imp): 9.21A https://artsolar.net/product/300-watt-solar-panel-monocrystalline-full-black/ I just want to confirm that 4 of these panels in series will be sufficient for my needs? Thanks guys Firoz 4 in series is pushing it imo, i would frankly go in 3's - you would need to go in 2's
September 19, 20196 yr Measure how much power the pump uses as that 750W quoted is a maximum. I have an 800W one that uses 450W normally and 600W with the creepy plugged in. It will depend on your filter and pipe layouts etc.
September 19, 20196 yr Should work. A lot depends on the size of your pool, and the number of hours you need to run the pump to turn the water over sufficiently. There should be a window of maybe 4-6 hrs around midday where you generate enough to run straight off solar on a timer, weather permitting. The axpert is not truly grid-tied, but I think using the grid as a first backup would be cheaper than cycling the batteries. Still, the 4x100Ah should give you up to 5hrs runtime if all else fails. Just rough thumbsucks, best to be measured for your exact conditions.

This times 4 is 158,8 V where the max DC input is 145 V. In wintertime at 0 degrees C it will already be 42,79 x 4 = 171,16 V, way too high. So with 4 panels you should go 2s2p.
