Hello Members,

Let me give you'll a run through of my system setup pardon me if i sound novice.  i have a main panel and a critical load panel. My CT sensors from the deye 8kw inverter is connected to the Main AC line coming into my home ( I did this so i during the day i can choose the option of ZERO TO CT and feed my non critical load too). Yesterday we had a couple seconds power outage in the area and i had a black out and the inverter gave an error code of F18 which states AC OVERCURRENT . i manually changed over to Grid via the changeover switch. After a couple minutes the error beeping went off i switched back to dc power. Any reason why this could have happened. What should i do to avoid this error in the future.

If the Deye is the same as the Sunsync, it has a rated current on the essential load side of 21.7A, with a max of 25A and a pass through Amperage of 35A.

When the utility came back on again, maybe with your load restarting, it pulled more than the max current allowed.

If you have a lot of inductive loads on the non-critical load side coming on at the same time it might have drawn too much current at one time. These would be items with motors like water pumps and fridges.

Hi, hope some people reading this old topic :)

Can you help me out a little? I got F18 code (AC overcurrent) it is known that that this can be caused by high surge currents. Got a few questions (model 10kW):
1. Is the 'surge'  a problem if the hybrid inverter is connected on grid too and the current can flow from AC in to Load port? the passthrough current is 45 Amps right?
2. After resetting the inverter, the F18 code does not go away, does this indicate that some relay is broken?

Any tips on how to continue?

I had F18 error caused by a faulty changeover switch. The inverter would take the load perfectly but tripped on F18 when the mains came back on. Whether ot not the changeover switch was faulty, I dont know but this is what I was told. Could have been a wiring error as well, as this was changed and changed again.

Mains/inverter changeover. An electrician (not the cable guy) came and sorted out the wiring. My DB was rewired half a dozen times and the installer, cable guy and electrician learned by doing what the difference is between essential, non essential and aux loads, and how to properly install the CT coil. After one of these the issue disappeared.

Hi Guys

Recently if started getting this error: F18HW_Ac_OverCurr_Fault when Eskom load shedding ends. Not every time, but a few times over the last 3 weeks.

Happened at 4.30 this morning, no large loads and system has been installed since January this year. Any idea what could be causing it or what needs to be checked?

Thanks

It might be your inverter:

Yeah, unfortunately. The inverter I was struggling with on this issue is in for repairs with Sunsynk now so we'll see what they say... Weirdly mine was the other way around though - only ever through the F18 error when load shedding started.

I have just started getting the same issue on my Sunsynk 5.5kw Inverter - sometimes, as loadshedding ends, the what did you do to solve the issue? I
