Sunsynk time delay before using batteries during power outage

Featured Replies

Have some of you maybe had a similar occurrence when there is load shedding that the Sunsynk inverter switches off completely and after 45 - 60 sec starts up and only then makes use of the batteries? I have 2 clients where we have installed 10KVA Sunsynk with 10KWH Lithium and 8KWP solar modules each and they both get this fault occurrence. Thanks.

same here, my 5.5 works great, however i did notice that the 2 small ups's i have "beep" once when eskom goes out. These ups's are connected to the essential circuits.

Anyone experienced that?

No, but it's quite possible that their power fail sense circuitry is sensitive enough to pick up the delay when the Sunsynk switches over to battery (<20ms or so).

What I have noticed, which is rather strange, is that the piezo starter on my gas hob pulses slower when working on batteries.

Those small UPSs often beep when grid goes down just to let you know that they're kicking in. I assume that this is a hangover from the good old days and their original purpose. The idea was that they'd keep a computer running long enough for you to do an orderly shutdown, and so the beep is telling you that you need to start the shutdown procedure because the clock is ticking.

I don't have a Sunsynk, I have a Goodwe. And there does seem to be a very small but definite delay in grid going down and inverter taking over. I see this when I'm working at my desk and the LED lamp will flash very, very quickly as the grid drops. The TV doesn't flicker because, I assume, of capacitors in the power supply.

So maybe your UPS's are reacting to this sort of miniscule gap.

I have a Sunsync 8Kw inverter 2 x 9.6Kw Dyness baterries and the delay is very annoying  The trouble is it doesnt happen evey time. My loads are are not split between essential and non-essntial loads. so you are not alone with this fault

This has happened to me twice now, my load is split between essential and non-essential, I have the 16 kW Sun sink with 2X5 kW Hubble batteries. Most of the time it switches over seamlessly however it has only been operational for a week. So I am concerned
