September 6, 20214 yr Hi guys, has anyone tried changing BMS parameters for Pylontech batteries? I want to increase maximum charging current from 25A to 100A using batteryView. Can someone assist with steps to follow
September 6, 20214 yr https://powerforum.co.za/topic/2408-pylontech-us2000b-how-to-read-data-from-them/ This link might lead you towards that direction. There were quite a bit of interesting info on how to get into the pylontech program.
September 6, 20214 yr Hi Guys I know the cable has been covered, but is there an easy option where one can buy it? Thanks

Thanks I bought mine from the powerforum store: https://powerforum-store.co.za/collections/accessories/products/rs232-to-usb-converter-cable-kit-for-pylontech

For some reason, my bms is limiting charge current for a bank of four batteries to 25A. Even when charging with the grid, my charge current max is 25A, that is not good because Pylontec recommends that a max charge current of 32A per battery, meaning for a bank of four batteries, I should be charging at close to 120A when my batteries are low. That should slowly reduce as the SOC increases and temperature goes close to 45deg cel. as long as my cell temps are low and Soc is low, I should be seeing well over 25A.
September 6, 20214 yr Author since running RIOT, I can now see the real status of my battery pack and I'm getting worried. Its only a year ago when I purchased the first two batteries and the other two were purchased around December but the health is down to 97%. The batteries have been slowly discharged and slowly charged at max 26A but they seem to deteriorate fast. At this rate, I doubt I will get 10 years out of them. Charging from the grid and still sitting at 26.4A
September 7, 20214 yr @hoohloc I am not sure what inverter you are using, but my Growatt 5000tl did the same with my Pylontech bank of 3 batteries on Li setting using BMS with the L02 protocol selected. It severely limited charge current. After contacting Growatt, they advised that I should use L04 for the protocol selection (option 36). This increased the max charge current to 111 A for my bank of 3 Pylontech US3000C batteries. This max charge current tapers off to lower values as the SOC reaches full level.

Thank you for the info, I'm using SPF5000TL. And my setting is Li on program/option 05 for BMS and haven't went as far as program 36. Will give that a shot and see. 😃

The default protocol is 02 if I remember correctly.
November 8, 20214 yr Author @Johan-Henry what firmware version do you have on your inverters? I have changed Program 36 to ptl 04 now and testing. So far I have see the current go over 25A, max 28A 😃. That's a slight improvement
November 9, 20214 yr @hoohloc Hi. I installed the latest firmware 3 firmware files that I could find on Powerforum for the main board, comms board and BMS. On the app it shows 500.09/002.03. I also have 3 fairly new Pylontech US3000C batteries, maybe their firmware also has something to do with the max charging setting working well over BMS. As mentioned, the max charging value changes based on SOC, but I see it regularly hitting 111A.
