  1. Yes will have a look at this tomorrow when there is sun to test.
  2. I have now connected the SA cable to the AM2 to get proper readings in SA. I also increased panels and I never updated the max PV setting in SA, not sure if that is related, but maybe let me first see tomorrow what it does. Then, where do you check that the inverter has comms with the battery? The cable is connected from the inverter to CAN on the battery.
  3. It is set to use inverter values, I have not yet reconnected the battery cable to Solar Assistant. (To be blatantly honest, I actually forgot to tell the installer about it, so might need to make sure the cable is long enough to reach.)
  4. Will go look shortly, need to find that bit first.
  5. I have not actually checked that comms are established between the inverter and the battery, cable is in though, but I am pretty sure the installer would have checked.
  6. The inverter is providing power to essential and non-essential (geyers). Zero export to CT, set to 20w Load priority is battery. State of charge for the battery, 100% the whole day. Now the interesting part is tonight when the solar dropped right down the battery the load over, currently running on battery, I've updated it to run to 60% SOC incase Eskom changes shedules. Attached the day, see how the grid drops to the 20w as the solar is dropping too.
  7. I presume that by now you have come right, but if you have not, I bought one from Shumata, was sub R500 for the board. https://shumata.com/
  8. Coming from a Voltronic setup I am battling with the time of use settings, I understand how it works, but it does not seem to blend in battery power, only grid, not much, but over the space of a few hours it does add up to almost 3kw, with the Voltronic SBU setup it would pull that from the battery, and then top up the battery from solar when the load drops, effectively switching off the grid 8am till 5pm. (ICC time setting was used to do that). What I am seeing is that it is blending in a small bit from the grid, 0.3-0.6kw instead of drawing that from the battery. The battery is staying on 100% SOC, almost like it is ignoring the time of use settings. Then on the time of use, what is the power field, I cannot find any reference to that anywhere. 8KW Deye, Hubble AM2 battery. Attachments: 1) Battery power - shows that battery is idle 2) Effergy Engage, red line shows where grid is used instead of battery. 3) Day overview 4) Time of use settings in place
  9. Anybody here extended the CT coil yet to 40-50m? Found this video on the net, wonder how widely it is used? https://youtu.be/johXd5gL2R0?t=254
  10. Solar Assistant is the answer, but then they will probably threaten you with warranty cancellation as per the new terms published. That Riot Cloudlink thingymabob, in Afrikaans it is said "dit is 'n goeie plan wat sleg werk".
  11. I cannot find any of the Port Elizabeth / Nelson Mandela Bay schedules, what is needed to integrate that?
  12. Is this still the latest firmware?
  13. Problem here is that this is only sustainable for the developer while sales are going. The moment the next kid hits the block and sales die it might mean the end of all SA installations out there.
  14. I am pretty sure this is the case. I could see in the startup that the monitor is disabled etc. No display from SA is super annoying, I've had to install a second PI with a monitor in the server room just to be able to see what is going on without going to pc or hauling my phone out. #jailbreakSA!
  15. Join the beta channel, in the new beta version is now shows for current day.
  16. A very important thing to take note off: With Solar Assistant your data lives on your own device on the card. You have no way of accessing that data in any form other than through Solar Assistant. (It is time for somebody with a bit of Linux skill to look at the SA installation and figure out how to remove the monitor off, no keyboard instruction, add back SSH access to enable backups over the network). Solar Assistant DOES NOT BACKUP YOUR DATA. If anything happens like a corrupt card your data is gone forever, the recovery method from Solar Assistant is to install it onto a fresh card and start over. There IS NO WAY TO BACKUP YOUR data, other than pulling the card out every now and again and making a file image manually of it. In comparison with ICC you have FULL access to the system running ICC and can easily do your own backups, or move your data from one installation to a new one.
  17. When I used to drive a Jeep I complained about fuel consumption, and the best advice received was that the only way to improve fuel consumption was to stop logging and analysing it, so I did just that, and have been doing that since with all vehicles, stop, fill up, drive off. I now get fantastic fuel consumption and never worry about it. Same for solar, I got caught with my pants down, the area where I live did not have load shedding until about 3 years ago, ran out and bought this light, and that battery, then this battery stops working, that light gave problems etc. I realised that before I wipe the snot out of my eyes I am going to be spending a lot of cash on a lot of small crappy products, and I will still be sitting in the dark during load shedding. I had a bit of cash, bought the 5kw inverter, with 5kw hubble and 6 panels. It changed my life, what is load shedding again? I do now however try to optimise absolutely everything I can so see how much I can spare on my electricity bill, so far this time of year it might be about R700pm. Was this an investment? Absolutely. Investment in my lifestyle and sanity. There is nothing more depressing that walking around with little camp lights in a dark house.
  18. CyberJoe replied to Namreh's topic in Batteries
Are they now able to do that now then? About 2 months ago I was told by their support that they cannot do anything yet with Cloudlink, which in my opinion is a total waste of time, Solar Assistant offers much better info.
  19. From the manual
  20. Black and White connected to the DB. Will look for the manual now for reference.
  21. Water heating is most definitely the most expensive item, so I would start with that.
  22. Yeah I would give part of my kidney to get stats like that!
  23. Yes that is a common method that I often see, but in the case I referred to that did not happen. (In fact it is so common that on the mail server that I run I have a rule in place that alerts me for any forwarding addresses added.)
  24. I've seen this happen even with domains hosted on the Google mail servers, doubt inside job. In order to pull this off at a mail server level the person needs to have total control over the outgoing queue, and probably would have to stop the queue to catch that one message.
  25. 5KW King as noisy, fitted in the garage!
