  1. I also use the 5kw BSL with 5.5kw Sunsynk Its very important to set them up correctly to get full utlitzation. I find very few installers I have spoken to does anything else than a "Safe" installation which means one can potentially lose up to 40% utilization.. My Batteries never used to go below 60% SOC where now I hit 30% daily Could one easily add a 2nd 5kw BSL Battery after 6months or so ? And Adding a 2nd hand one ? I may juts be in the market for another one
  2. Maybe in conjunction with a cutt off type controller as below Adding a Diode will also be a good idea to stop backflow It is uncertain what the Max Amps is even though relay handles 20/30A Maybe an all in one Buck/Voltage Switch is available ? I would also be interested https://www.robotics.org.za/XH-M603 https://www.robotics.org.za/XM-M604
  3. @phidzHave you configured Aux before for GEN/MicroInverter/Output ? Do you know if one can feed 800W in via 2nd Inverter through Gen port configed as MicroInverter ?
  4. I suspect Setup of BMS, PM supplier with Screenshots..? My LBSA DALY 100a 4S 12V LiFePO4 Smart BMS with Bluetooth works 100%
  5. IMHO There are 2 reasons for bonding panels to shortest path to ground earth: To attempt to neutralize static build up on Solar Panels, which in turn attracks lightning To Dissepate energy to ground incase of a lighting strike, via shortest route and away from electrical equipment, Grid and infrastructure
  6. My Electrician and HOA insisted my Panels get earthed directly to under 10 Ohms They both say it is the new SANS requirement, so I had to do it to get signoff That resulted in 4 Rod positions being drive into soil. 2 sets of 3x 1.2m rods and 2x 1.2m rods bonded on 16mm earth wire over a distance of about 12m away from where it exits builing The DB earth and PV Box Surge Protector Earths are joined but may not touch the Solar Panel earth
  7. Hi Glad you are finally getting somewhere, it can be so frustrating.. So you now bonded Neutral and Earth coming out of the Sunsink Load Port ? (I'm setup Like that) Are you now feeding the Sunsynk Inverter from Generator via the Gen Port ? What bonding did you do on the Generator Side ? Do you think reducing Gen Input load below 5kva wil work ? See My post where I am trying to get info:
  8. Has anyone ever done something similiar as above or fed Micro Inverter into Gen Port ?
  9. Currently running a Sunsynk 5Kw Inverter and 5Kw BSL battery and Its fed by 4.5 kw Panels facing North on a Flat roof Typical Config is feeding Essential DB Circuit and rest of DB via backfeed and Ct Clamp Monitor In the mornings I end up with 60% Battery Power Left and my typical consumption is 1000 kw per month, 30kw ish per day of which I buy 25% Als have a mostly unused ready to go Camping/Backup/STHF Inverter setup worth almost 20k 800W/12v Phoenix Inverter a DIY LithiumSA 12V Lithium Battery Bank with BMS (8 Cell 120A), thus about 2.5kw and Bluetooth Kit a Victron 100/20 MPPT 1x 290W Roof based Solar Panel topping up the battery on its own 12V 20A 3, port 12v Victron Charger (Offline) I also have 2x 160w panels (top one Active) on my 4x4 with 1 Extra High Cycle Battery running a Ctek Vehicle Solar Charger This is handy for camping Question: Will it be wize to feed my Victron 800W/12v Phoenix Inverter on the Generator Port Benefits I can count on ? How to configure ? If I can adjust my seconday camping setup, what should I do? Other advice ? Hope I can get some advice, thanx in advance..
  10. I dont seem to find anyone who stocks this at the moment here in Centurion Please let me know if you definitely know of one or have one https://citel.fr/en/photovoltaic/type-2-pv-surge-protector/ds50pv-50051
  11. Thanx for the feedback .. Im either feeding a 12v Inverter for my study servers or using it for my shacks Ham Radios. I need to ensure that I have a 2nd working system even though the house is on a 5Kw Sunsyk, 48v system In the past Ive also tried using a 24/12 DC to DC Converter but there are issues.. When Camping my vehicle etc is already setup for 12v so easy to stay 12v Looks like Im going to have to just bite the bullet..
  12. Background Study use: 2x 330w x 38v Panels in Series I propably did a calculation error using 2x 330w x 37.83v(Vmpp) BYD Panels in series and acquired a Victron SmartSolar 100/20 MPPT (2 weeks old) According to Victrons calc 'n could be losing 30% +. Im now getting 20A in at best loooking at the Victron Connect App If its in fact true, Id like to charge my 12v 240A Lithium battery quicker during loadshedding, even add a 3d panel later on.. Camping: 2x 160w x 18.6v Panels in Series I also want to utlize this 100/20 MPPT when camping with 1 x 160w x 18.6v panels or 2 x 160w x 18.6v in series and might add 2x more panels later... Question/Advice Will a Victron 100/50 MMPT Controller (Or bigger) produce 30% more Power ? Trade if my theory is correct Id like to see if someone wants to trade in my 100/20 on a new or good used 100/50 or bigger without me taking too much of a knock Perhaps sell mine for R2500 if there is interest any Advice/Offers will be considered I do hower need the SmartSolar/Bluetooth feature else im running blind I am in Centurion Tx in advance
