freierMensch got a reaction from ibiza in DIY 280Ah Battery for IMEON 3.6 Inverter with Seplos BMSHello, I'm the new one here, I've had an IMEON 3.6 inverter for 1 year, which I'm running with 4 x 2.4 Kwh Imeon 4850 batteries. In addition, I use the retrofit system from Imeon to use the power of an older Growatt TL3-X 7000. Anything I can't use myself, I send to the power grid. That works really well, but since the ecological madness is in the government in Europe, especially here in Germany, and the instinct for self-preservation is no longer there, power shortages and very high inflation are the daily bread. I wanted to buy another 2-4 batteries of 2.4 Kwh each from Imeon in France, but the price more than doubled in 6 months. Now I want to build my own battery bank and hope that maybe someone here has experience with it. Specially with Imeon Inverter. I ordered 16 Lifepo 4 280 Ah batteries in China and also ordered a Mason DIY kit from Seplos. Seplos usually makes BMS systems and there you can set everything that is important to charge/discharge and maintain the batteries. What I have found out so far, you need an additional active balancer to keep the cell voltage the same for all 16 cells. Imeon himself is very reluctant to build batteries himself and would of course like to sell his own. Seplos states that the Imeon Inverter is compatible, but I would like to have more access to the important settings on the inverter. When installing the Imeon Inverter there are 2 passwords which are as follows: User password allows access to a simplified interface Email: user@local Password: password Installer profile allows access to an interface with some additional parameters Email: installer@local Password: Installer_P4SS I'll post the links to the products below so that anyone who's interested knows what I'm talking about As already mentioned, charging and discharging with the small Inverter 3.6 works really well, since it also steps in during the day and supplies the consumers with electricity when it rains in between or a few clouds disturb the solar yield. Imeon works with a Linux system, in which it starts the apps to tell the inverter what to do. Since several apps are running at the same time, there can be interference between the individual apps where the support from the French could be improved. Especially if you don't speak French and there's only a French woman on the phone who speaks your native language and that's it. It just takes time via email and is also not perfect. Can someone send me the password for deeper settings? Is probably one with the daily date at the end. like Growatt20221009 for the TX3-7000. but I don't know exactly for Imeon Does anyone here have more experience with my problem? Of course I could have just bought 4 more battery racks, but the price for 4 pcs including shipping and tax is around $6-6,500 for a total capacity of 200Ah. For self-construction with the 16S BMS system and the 280Ah 3.2 V batteries including the Mason Kit where everything is included, I can get there with the freight from China and tax for $3000. So 80Ah more and only half to pay. Money doesn't grow on trees for me either. I would appreciate a reply, maybe we can help each other. Greetings from near the F1 Gandprix Nürburgring/Germany Bernd

freierMensch got a reaction from Steve87 in Victron accused of breaking sa price lawsVictron is half the price it was last year in my Country. The Victron Multiplus II 48/5000/70-50 you can buy here new for 850€ and the Victron SmartSolar MPPT 150/60 is for 250€ to buy. So you are right, Victron is a very good produkt. I have had a IMEON and because i have had so much trouble with the company i sold all and buy Victron. I can tell you it was the best i could do, all work fine now and i do all by myself. Also many people buy a Deye Hybrid and it shoulsd also be good for DIY
Have a good time and a great start in 2024

3.2... is the nominal value for the LiFePO4's... hence 48/15=3.2V per cell nominal and thus 51.2V for a 16 cell battery... if you see a LiFePO4 advertised as 48V nominal, its a 15 cell battery, even if they do not state that, if the nominal Voltage is stated a 51.2V, then its a 16 cell battery...

freierMensch got a reaction from Patrick OReilly in DIY 280Ah Battery for IMEON 3.6 Inverter with Seplos BMSIt is both Patrick,
it is like a hobby and i save a lot of money. If you build your own 280Ah Battery with 48 V you are less than 2.700$, if you buy a case also you have 3000$ for a lot of power, make a double and you have enought. (28kWh /6000$€) If something went wrong, you can fix it, because you built it and know how it work. Also you are more sensible by using power, here in Europa nothing is normal anymore, no more culture and respect. All crazy here. We will become a energy problem here if the green party and klimachange stupid is not over in a few month. The price for Energy rises and is double in one year, so thinks change fast . I like to be my own master and not say to the govement, please help me. The only they do is to rob you more . But it is also ok to buy a battery from company and have no problems if you use them normal. (80 % cost, 20 % hobby)

freierMensch got a reaction from Antonio de Sa in DIY 280Ah Battery for IMEON 3.6 Inverter with Seplos BMSMaybee you should take a look at seplos BMS menue
Point 81 maybe, test it or ask seplos
Good luck, if it not work today, use the night to think about and look tomorrow again, and again and again.
One day it will work.

freierMensch got a reaction from Antonio de Sa in DIY 280Ah Battery for IMEON 3.6 Inverter with Seplos BMSIf you make a DIY Battery project, than buy 20 Cells if you need 16, what happend in 5 years if one cell is damage, where to get one of this speci cells in 5 years? So you can make a 12 Volt car battery or for campng with the 4 cells. You taje the best for your project and the other is reserve. Than you have no problem.

freierMensch got a reaction from Antonio de Sa in DIY 280Ah Battery for IMEON 3.6 Inverter with Seplos BMSIf you have a seplos BMS you can use Battery Monitor from seplos, if you are connected you can change many options.
Look at the link:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/10pxgNLHovcDZRVGrCZsSkfecBrRw-AdW
there you can read in PDF for your BMS. If you have a 100Ah BMS with Can o 485, you find all there.
password is Admin and key also Admin
You find all options in Upload parameter.
I hope it helps
If not, ask seplos, they are very friendly.

freierMensch got a reaction from zsde in DIY 280Ah Battery for IMEON 3.6 Inverter with Seplos BMSHello DeonBez,
the Box for the Seplos is so great, i love it.
I use the IMEON Inverter and they (the support) dont talk or answere Emails. So i am at my own. After Fedex delivered the Seplos i start to build a battery to take a look if it´s works. I also ordered the Mason Box and will be here in end November maybe. So i start testing and write to seplos support. The write that the Imeon Inverter works well. But they are friedly and write every night at 2 am and i answer at 8 am. They want that i use the Dyness profil, but it did not work, so i test every profil. With Pylontech the discharge work well, but the charge use only 5 Ah. So i tested more and read the profil from WECO Battery 5K3. Perfect profil and work fine in charge and discharge. If anyone use Imeon and will build a DIY Battery with Seplos BMS via CAN connection use the WECO Profil. You have to put the Ground from pin 8 to Pin 3 from Seplos BMS and The CAN H and CAN L at 4 and 5 is ok from Imeon Inverter.
Hope anybody can use the info, I have download the Print file for Seplos BMS
Have fun and if it doesn't work try again the next day and it will work in a day

I built a 10kWh DIY battery in December 2021 with locally bought 100Ah cells together with a JBD BMS (250mA balancing), compression rods and wooden box. I have SMA Sunny Island (2013 model) inverter and did not need comms between inverter and BMS as I am used to using voltage settings. Up to now the cell imbalance was never more than 40mV and usually below 15mV. I used the Bluetooth App of BMS to monitor the cells as and when required.
After this positive DIY experience, I bought EVE LF280K cells via Alibaba and also some Seplos Mason 280 DIY boxes. I installed my first box a month ago and up to now found the cell balancing very good (below 10mV imbalance). Planning on building a few more.
I posted some pictures and also modifications here of my first Mason 280 DIY battery build.
I was so impressed with the Seplos BMS, that I upgraded the first DIY battery to use the same BMS. See attached photos. My son is busy designing enclosure to 3D print for the BMS together with the LCD.

Hello bernd!
I have been looking at doing a DIY battery too, there are not many on the forum here.
Some guys on here might be able to help with the seplos BMS experience.
I am disappointed you need to use an external balancer.
From my research the market in SA is flooded with over the counter batteries which compete with a DIY option. Ordering batteries from alibaba is pretty risky in SA.
I need to build a 24V battery and cannot find any suitable options on the market.
