  16. I have learnt a few things from this video i didn't know not to wind the wire tight with a pair of pliers before inserting and crimping the wire. Great video thanks. I know most electricians go bos with a pair of pliers and Gp wire ends before connecting to db breakers🤣 I am waiting for a lashing from the electricians including @TaliaB🤣🤣 Just joking guys.

  20. Is the hole already drilled? If not then there is spesific questions you need to be asking remember this is a lifetime investment and it needs to be done correctly first time around. Drilling a borehole is not a simple task. If the borehole is not yet drilled ask these questions to the drilling contractor. 1.What is the estimated depth of drilling? 2.What is the borehole construction & how much casing is needed? 3.What type of geology will be drilled through? 4.What method will be used to drill to this depth, and can it go deeper if necessary? 5.What is the expected cost to drill this borehole? (Important note – the answers to questions 3 and 4 can have a dramatic effect on the price!) 6.Can the driller develop (i.e. flush with compressed air) the borehole after drilling and for how long? 7.What type of aquifer was identified by a geologist? Submersible pump can only be identified (head capacity) after the depth of the borehole is established.

  22. @TaliaBVery happy you are feeling better bud believe you are on your way home from MRU to OR Tambo then to CPT. Take it easy have a good rest and you will be back in the saddle in no time. Regards Derek
  23. You need to purchase pre-loaded Raspberry Pi https://www.geewiz.co.za/solar-boards/216512-solar-assistant-pre-loaded-raspberry-pi-package-no-monthly-fees-excludes-battery-and-inverter-cable.html?sfdr_ptcid=2961_617_701650883&sfdr_hash=02bc67704ef77f791d7432e2787b2d9e&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw-JG5BhBZEiwAt7JR6zm3M4NmuMt0x0A7cTE00twQdfOaDRtVqf2pnivzS44_SqFViUD6LhoCNrQQAvD_BwE Instructions below to do the setup for Voltronic inverters. https://solar-assistant.io/help/voltronic/configuration?srsltid=AfmBOopLxbbhdOZbiUulfDGDlomRtTLoJMO1yRezH86qPmxPAYTaZ_IC
  24. Not sure about above comments as 50kw 3ph does not compute to 240A breaker. The breaker size input and output for the specific 50kw inverter should be 83A x 1.25 = 103.75A closest standard breaker 100A. Not sure if adequate calculations was done initially before installing the inverter. A few very important questions? 1. What is the original utility 3 ph supply breaker. 2. What is the size of the 4 core supply cable entering the premises( point of supply). 3. Should the supply breaker be upgraded to 100A you should have a 25mm² 4 core armoured cable( SWA) from the utility supply point. 4. Is the original installer/ electrician qualified to work on 3ph supply systems as a normal IE can not supply the COC it needs to be signed off by a MIE or a electrical engineer as these factors could void the warranty. I was just wondering 🧐

  27. Yes sure in terms of cost, 6mm solar cables are more expensive than 4mm solar cables. However, investing in a larger cable size ensures that the system is future-proof and can handle expansions or upgrades to the solar panel system in future. If the extra cost of R420 will be a concern then yes go with 4mm² solar cable.
  28. It is not always just the current rating to consider when keeping efficiency in mind. At 287v 15A 30M one way the voltdrop would look like this: 2.5mm²= 2.13% 6.12v 4.5mm²= 1.33% 3.83v 6mm²= 0.889% 2.55v. So looking at above calculations ideally less than 1% voltdrop is always preferable more effiecient conversion rate at SCC.

  30. Good afternoon all, First of all @TaliaBis doing much better and is now in the general ward awaiting pathology tests that has been sent to Paris 'Laboratoire Cerba" operates on the French and international markets of specialized clinical pathology. The reason the physician had made the decision to seek specialized intervention is they can't find any traces of DVT( deep vein thrombosis) where the blood clots could have originated from and no injury or surgery that could have been the causes of the clots in the lungs. According to @TaliaB brother they are not comfortable to discharge him until the results is known from the pathologist in France. He is taken off all oxygen and breathing freely and comfortable. He is still on blood thinning iv as a precaution measure. By the sounds of it he is now desperate to get back home to Cpt who can blame him. Hopefully this will be my last update as i am sure he will be back on the forum soon then he can share more detailed information about the cause of the sudden blood clots. Regards Derek.
  31. To appear incompetent and to actually be incompetent are two very different situations. The perceived "incompetence" is often a carefully planned strategy to keep the coffers full, allowing for even more people to dip into the funds. A good example is the pension fund 2 pot system who is gaining the most not the poor working class trying to survive no the tax man is helping to keep the coffers filled up. A crying shame.
  32. I agree with @Scorp007 there is a mechanical noise that does not sound right. I run quite a few similar pump here on the farm and they are very quiet you only hear a slight woosh sound and can actually hear the water running through the pipes. I would investigate further before running the pump as is. Remove the back fan cover then start the pump and see if the noise clears.
