This is exactly what the problem is, if you limit it to 15A then you can only supplement the 7kw with 3.5kw from the Grid, in the case where you don't have enough PV or Battery to cover, or in the case where you have hit the inverter limit and it needs to pass the rest through. *EDIT* Ok based on Plonkster's reply below, this is only an issue untill passthru is triggered, then normal operation can continue, depending if you have installed a smaller breaker or not

Yes I did not dispute the fact that your inverter is capable of running the load, all that I alluded to was the fact that you are under powered on the battery side for the size of your inverter. It was also mentioned on the forum that warranty claims they tend to check if you have sized the backup correctly. The SLA batteries have a higher discharge rating most likely compared to the pylontechs that you have, perhaps why it was running fine previously. If you are convinced that it is not due to your load being out of spec for the batteries, then yes you could have some other issue. I am not familiar with the setup of the Goodwe and Pylontechs, all that I know from a Victron perspective is that you can see the charge and discharge limits communicated from the batteries and the Inverter stays within those parameters. You have to also input the total AH for the bank. Are you able to see this on the Goodwe side and after adding the 3rd battery did it increase the charge/discharge limits? Any warnings on batteries or on the Inverter?

So I have been wondering about what it means using a non NRS approved inverter vs an approved NRS inverter for Backup/UPS. Do you have to have a manual change over to be able to power the loads or can it still be "connected" to the grid and do pass through? For example using an Axpert only for UPS not an embedded SSEG. What does this mean for charging from the Grid if the case is you can't use it as pass through?

Well you are running a 5kVA inverter with batteries only capable of delivering 2400W continuously , you will run into some issues.

Add another pylon and it should be better each US2000 can only deliver 25A continuously, washing machine likely pushing more than 2400W for longer periods of time.

It can't handle 74A for a long time, it can handle 100A for maybe a second according to the manual. Running it for a minute on 74A will probably give you a lot of problems. From looking at Inverter and Battery recommendations, they normally double up the Pylons to avoid situations like this. Victron recommends a minimum amount of batteries to avoid situations like this: I would think you need to get another battery..

Limiting Geyser Current
My geyser is running at PV idle times, two slots a day and normally only comes on for the first slot. On Tuesdays this slot is also used for ironing/vacuuming etc. and in the beginning I had a 3kW element, which pushed it to importing some grid. Luckily my geyser burst and got a replacement with a 2kW element. This gave me enough room to handle most loads during a geyser slot, unless the wife really wants to also use the microwave and dishwasher at the same time

Installer Payment Terms
I paid for the equipment upfront and was delivered a day or two after. The rest of the installation was only paid after the job was complete and COC was issued. If you do make payment, insist on receiving the equipment, while planning is done for the installation.
