  1. Hi yes, the comment was meant more as a joke. I know it all depends on general usage and no of people in the house, etc. We run a few pc's (the kids draw extra power with the gaming) and then also use aircons at night in summer, etc.
  2. Based on my experience, I would rather use Solar Assistant than the Sunsynk app, I have both and now and again look at the Sunsynk app, however SA is just much more user friendly for me. I don't know how you guys get through the night with less than 9kWh!!
  3. Solar Assistant was also affected by the constant time changing ito the TOU schedule. Data remained intact otherwise. The solution for the TOU schedule as mentioned was just not to sync the time.
  4. Thanks. The CBI app does not have a "history" check box also no firmware update since I got the switches. However, last night at some stage all of a sudden the total usage was updated. Very strange.
  5. It appears if both my switches has stopped recording usage data today and the first day on record of the devices are 31 Dec 2022. Does it only hold 12 months data or could something have gone wrong in it having to erase old data and replace with new data for the months/days? It still shows the actual usage real time, but not total usage for the day. Any ideas?
  6. He managed to return the panels the next day for a full refund apart from additional shipping cost. In the end he managed to dodge that one.
  7. For FW the BMS cycle count still has a calculation attached to it to get to their warranty count. You take the BMS cycle divided by 2 divided by 0.8 and that is what FW work with. In practice it comes down to a discharge from 100% to 20% SOC and charge to 100% counts as 1 cycle. Which also comes down to 160% of the battery capacity (in a combined charge/discharge view) is 1 cycle.
  8. I have seen it at our local Leroy Merlin. They also have an inverter that looks like the Deye/Sunsunk
  9. I did and it links to a model range with a max rating of 460W Edit: I have also seen in the solar world that these companies in general are not great at spec sheets with version control. If I for instance search for a specsheet on my battery, I will get three different ones and no indication on which one might be the right one. The dimensions of the same battery (15/12) is different on all three.
  10. Haha yes. He paid R4 150 per panel and the closest we could find was on Voltex which was also a model we can't find elsewhere which was the CS3W-545MS at R5 100 and I made the point around the price differential and Voltex imo is a well-known brand. - https://www.voltex.co.za/product/canadian-solar-panel-545w-cs3w-545ms/
  11. Thanks. I told him to see if they can in some way give evidence that it is what the labels says it is and is genuine CS panels. I will also ask him to measure the panels, it was delivered yesterday. This is their website: https://www.worldofsunpower.com/ I see this domain was registered in April 2022. Although nothing obviously strange on the website like the other scam sites that gets posted here often. Let's see how this unfolds
  12. Does anyone know if they are reputable? The ratings on Google doesn't give me confidence with most 5 star reviews being reviewers with only 1 review. Then the panels that this friend of mine bought is Canadian Solar CS3W-550MS (I can't find any specs on this on the internet) He just called me and said he bought this and it doesn't look legit from a quick view. Any opinions or experience with these guys?
  13. All of their social media links, link to the site but not an account. The physical address in Lydenburg does not exist. There is no mention anywhere on the site of who the people are behind the site. Just too many red flags. If they were a real company, they would be doing the basics to show who they are and what they do.
  14. I have only the geyser on non-essential and at the moment I have to manually use solar every day to heat up the geyser. It seems it can be automated with Home Assistant, but I do not have the time at the moment to understand how to do that. So I untick the limit to load box when I have excess solar and then heat the geyser, once heated I tick the box again for the next heating cycle at night to be from grid only.
  15. Since Friday, Freedom Won has stopped responding to my whatsapp's and emails. They do read the messages, just not responding.
  16. Keep asking questions, that is what the community is for. Not everyone starts at the same time and things that I know now I didn't know 6 months ago, and to wade through all posts on the site will take ages and then you might not even get your answer. Always good to do a quick search to see if there are obvious answers, but otherwise just ask.
  17. This drop happened again today, luckily this time the grid was on and managed to take over before the battery drained. It discharged from 35% to 27% in 20 seconds with a 2700W load. With this size battery, the discharge should've been 0.5% over the 20 seconds. I whatsapp'ed the technician who was able to immediately assist me. It was again due to cell 6 that there was an issue. He explained a few things around a mismatch and having to balance things...I can't recall all the technicalities. But the idea now is to get the pack to 55.8v and then monitor again. I noticed looking back on previous days when my battery was "full" at 99% the volts were only around 54v. This pack has been on 99% today since 11h15 (53.2v) and still charging and only on 54.7v at the moment. Charging at between 2kWh and 4kWh during this time. I will post updates for the record for future reference
  18. ..and based on the system flow chart screenshot only MPPT1 is giving power
  19. FWIW I am still on post paid and my monthly fixed fees with CoJ is R887 (VAT incl)
  20. An update on mine. Freedom Won support logged into the battery today and updated some things. They also adjusted the float, absorption and equilisation voltages as it was apparently too high. Will see if it happens again.
  21. Just fwiw. I experienced the same yesterday with my 15/12 battery. It was on 35% when loadshedding started at 8:00, within 5 mins it dropped to 10% with a load under 500W on the battery. This morning it was operating as normal when the loadshedding started. Just thought I will add mine too here for the record. @Steve87 is however in contact with FW to have a look. But it seems to be a "common" problem now that I looked into it.
  22. Is there somewhere release notes to know what changed from previous versions?
  23. I would not think that the percentage failures should go up if you have a larger market share. The number of failures, yes, but not the percentage failures.
