That may be a good thing... software may be easy to adapt for SolWeb or "SolWindWeb"

Will be interested to see how much power it will generate when the winter fronts push through. Would be great if you can keep us updated with figures. Thanks Mike Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk

Solar Power monitoring cost does not make sense
I agree Manie... wait... I also like the idea of a feed to Twitter (ie Consumption/Generation and Efficiency) uploaded every 30 minutes via a tweet. (Ed ;)) My weather software (see signature) does this so I can see my weather station updates via twitter.

Axpert 5kva
Thanks alot Mike ... lovely detailed post. The benefits of a combination Inverter/MPPT like the Axpert (even better the Inifini - which can also add Grid seamlessly instead of Battery)

I thought so but was double guessing myself.... also want to add 4x panels to my 2x but was worried about over voltage with 3x big panels in a string. What max amps do you get...? Thanks Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk

Viper: In your sig you have : "1800w (6x 300w Renesola Virtus II 2x3strings)" Is this 2x 3 panel strings?

For me - protecting the battery bank comes first... you may limit yield but that is the price to be paid. Maybe 25A is a compromise! better than 37A

This is an interesting tool mentioned in this article. Hopefully available for Southern Africa at some stage.

Sometimes the more basic the tech the easier the interface... my 2c anyway!! Are the blades turning or has wind dried up suddenly on the west coast for no apparent reason!

Wind Turbines
Wow... that looks cool... a nervous moment early on when the tail furled with gravity... assume its windstill... typical when you desperately need to test TTT/Ed: Time to include a Wind Turbine in SolWeb (ready to duck for cover...) Looks great Mike. Keep us updated!

Feedback required - tilting panels at the perfect angle.
If you look at the bottom of the curves utility you will see the bottom axis is days... you adjust when the appropriate day is reached in the year... ie 90 days (30deg) 180 (50deg) and 270 (30deg), mid summer (15deg) for example in my case...

I updated the link so check that you use the latest. If you want to fix the panels then I have 45 deg angle but if you move them maybe 2x a year then it will allow for options. Especially when you design your frame... Enjoy fiddling Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk

I used this site and it helped alot... you need to decide summer/winter or anything in between. The sliders in the tool at the bottom of the page do the business for you... for you location (you need your GPS coordinates...) Regards Mark
