Hi

I got 2 quotes from to suppliers for a 5kw system.I dont know if the products they use is any good since im not clued up on Solar products

Supplier 1-

10× 540w Canadian Solar panels,

Growatt Hybrid Inverter 48V,

2×Pylontech(think it is a Pylontech) battery 4,8KwH Lithium-ion battery with 6000 cycles.

Supplier 2-

5000w Deye Full Hybrid Inverter

 12 x 450w Mono Solar Panels(Canadian Solar or JA)

 10.2kwh LiFePO4 Power Pack(2 batteries)

Can anyone please give me advise to which one is the better option.

Price is basically the same.

Thanks in advance.

I would ask fora quote on the Sunsynk, better interface, the ceo of the company is much more involved with training videos on YouTube all the time, a much larger user base  on various forums and the price difference is not substantial.

The main advantage of the 540 watt panels is, if roof space is a little tight

I'm curious as to the prices. I just can't quite see how both options would basically be the same.

Any chance you can share the prices quoted for each?

Also curious to know what are the make of these two batteries --( 10.2kwh LiFePO4 Power Pack(2 batteries) there have been lots of complains about batteries with bad cells.

Many people know that solar panels harness the sun's rays to generate electricity, but they don't realize how complex a process this actually is. On top of that, there are many other factors to consider when investing in solar power — particularly for those who are new to the industry.

Solar energy is the radiant light and heat from the sun that is harnessed using a range of ever-evolving technologies such as solar heating, solar photovoltaics, solar thermal energy, solar architecture, molten salt power plants, and artificial photosynthesis.

Out of those, I would definitely go for Bull.

This power forum store also sell Hubble batteries. You can browse some of their models and prices. Hubble build some with 2nd life as well as new cells. Local company.

I would go with second quote, and ask for Canadian Solar panels, as the performance under all conditions is amazing. Dust doesn't have much effect on performance, and their strength is exceptional. We had jaggered hail in PMB a while ago the size of tennis balls which broke roof tiles, but only "cleaned" the dust off the panels with zero damage. 😁

The Deye and Sunsynk inverters are the same OEM, but the Sunsynk has better firmware / software, for a slightly higher price.

I personally have Hubble batteries, and am extremely happy with them, but know about Bull and Pylontech, which are good batteries too.

Never seen this, as far as I know, all cells are grade "A" and new.

Personally I have 2 Hubbles and very impressed. BYD 2nd life are used for the S-100 and S-120.

This picture was taken from their Web site a few minutes ago. It was also confirmed when I phoned them prior to buying them last year.

OK thanks for the info. So just the lower voltage stuff.👍

Yes just like Revov selling a 5.1kwh 48V at R24 500 for 2nd life if one want to use lithium on low budget 4 x Hubble S-100/S-120 selling for about R20 000 gives a good 5.2-6.2kwh capacity without comms at 48V.
